three rules, rather than two! argh
nah - she couldn't remember if she was playing a titleist 2 or 3 so there is no danger that they could find the spot again
think the NR was the right decision
didn't stop her getting a hole in one on the 13th tho!
what a mad night ;)
so
tee shot
rule 15-3 - 2 stroke penalty for playing wrong ball
rule 18- 4 - ball moved by fellow competitor via their pocket and some considerable distance to the green. replace as close as they can to the spot where it was picked up
and now playing 4?
strokeplay
they noticed when they got to the green and said a few sweary words...!
and Player B handed over the shiny titleist
they decided that they didn't know what to do and Player A just NRd the hole
it was strokeplay pallybob. the partner was a fellow competitor, so they go back to where the shiny new titleist was found and drop and then player A plays - so tee shot, 2 stroke penalty and then play the correct ball from the rough where they think it was - so playing 4 from the rough?
hello all!
hope the season is being kind to you
What are your thoughts?
Player A tees off, ball is in rough, takes a few minutes but the player thinks the titleist they find is theirs and hits it to the green. on the way to the green their partner finds a shiny new titleist and pockets it...
I must admit - I am struggling to see any difference between the two concepts 'non return' and 'disqualification'
wonder why CONGU decided to use NR and not DQ for the rule 3-2 infringement...? I might write to them and ask them ;)
thenks
still find it odd
I think its the use of the word 'disqualified' that is bothering me - that normally means the competitor has done something really bad!
I just cant get my head round why CONGU rule 19 means the competitor gets a NR and not a DQ in handicapping systems...! I assume that...
guys
hello!
apologies if I am being totally thick however:
rule 3-2 states that a competitor is DQd if they do not post a score at a hole
rule 32 says that stableford is a 'form' of strokeplay (not sure what is meant by 'form') and the competitor can return a score of 0 if they are one over...
Now, if he had cleared a leaf, he would have been ok!
Was playing Thornton yesterday and they had loads of trees with red/orange leaves. Gorgeous! But that's the end of summer...
Tell me about it!
I've been thro the rule book, decisions, and every google result without finding anything that confirms such a penalty.
You can't do all that searching when lining up a putt, so if someone is adamant they are right, you do tend to believe them!
I am looking forward to...
thanks boys
I've always cleared any twigs and leaves away if I was in the rough, never understood why people told me you couldn't clear them away if you were near the green and wanted to putt...
way too many rules in this game!
rule 13-2 is making my head hurt
here's the scene
player is off the green and wants to putt
its autumn and there are leaves and twigs on the green on the line and also off the green
the player wants to remove all of them to give a nice line thro to the pin
what can they do? and are there...
