I agree too to be fair. Discussing a line and getting your caddy to have a look for you is one thing. Standing behind you and saying 'left a bit, a bit more, that'll do' seems like too much to me. You aren't allowed alignment canes during play so why are you allowed somebody telling you...
I'm a member at Drax GC, it's a cracking little course and for about £350 a year you can't go too wrong! We're also doing a 3 month 'taster' membership for £75 at the moment so you could have a look at that and if it's not your cup of tea then you're only £75 out!
Selby is a lovely course...
I take a bag of nuts and a banana! It's not unheard of for me to take a sandwich out with me either, I like to eat on the way round, you need to keep the energy up!
In all fairness the SI has almost nothing to do with difficulty of the hole and even less to do with stableford points. It is all based on matchplay. The SI's should be organised so that a higher handicap will get most/all of his shots before the match is over (usually around the 15/16th)...
My Scotty is in clip! I've been thinking about sending it off to Titleist to get it refurbished but this is costly and will mean that I have to send it to the US (also costly) so I might not see it for ages.
I saw this on fleebay...
I was under the impression that the 3 cards had to be in qualifying competitions within the last 12 months.
Saying that, the club should stick by what they told you initially. You've been hard done by but only because they messed up by telling you you could stick a supplementary card in!
I think it's worth practicing with both and seeing which one you are better with.
I don't carry a SW, I usually use my 60* for greenside bunker shots or the 52* for slightly longer bunker shots.
