It’s a poor product, run by horrid people, nobody is watching and it’s dying on its backside. And the attempts to push the teams aspect are laughable. Think that about covers it.

I would class using a rangefinder 30 yards from the green as slow play, but then again I’ve never met a golfer who admits to being a slow player.

I believe it was Formby that didn’t want Gerrard and he lived overlooking the course. They didn’t want any football people after the experience with Howard Kendall, although not the case any more.

Agreed. Played them both, Stockport many times and it’s a terrific course. They might still have have Charl Schwartzel’s course record card on display in the clubhouse (in Open qualifying no less).
