I think one of the big problems with the handicap system is that there is still no course rating system The most difficult course around my way easily plays 5 shots harder than the easiest course...yet handicaps don't fluctuate to take that into account. I think this is one of the contributing...

I'd like to see the maximum HC be reduced to 18 for matchplay, one shot a hole is enough IMO I'd also like to change where the strokes are given for instance a 6 hc plays against an 18 hc - 12 strokes to be given I'd like them to be given on stroke index 7-18 because the 6 HC should be making...

I'm not good enough to win the scratch events and feel I don't have enough shots to win the stablefords, I've never shot 40+ points that said I play in as many comps as I can get to but given the choice I would always choose a scratch event over a HC comp much rather lose to a better player...
