Your worst ever round, not just based on score

About 3 months ago. Caught the shanks on the second shot of the first hole. I wanted to walk by the 3rd but was marking a handicap card. Took me a good month to loose the shanks. Not good.

Too many to mention!! Shot 123 in a medal as you can guess hit every shot under the sun! Shanks, tips, fats, slices the lot and that was just the first!

Played a match with HTL at Maidenhead. Shanked the approach to the 1st and then topped, sliced and shanked the other 17. Somehow HTL got us to the last and all I had to do was hit one straight. Couldn't manage it and we lost 1 down. Never been so embarrassed on a course

My second ever round was a farce, played in the snow! The ground was so hard I sliced my thumb open when pushing in my first tee (the 3 pronged ones)and got blood all over my nice new glove, shirt and trousers.I then lost at least 6 balls on the snow covered fairways and rough before managing to lose 2 separate headcovers and finally doing my back in just after walking off the last green! I wont even mention my score! ;-(

blanked 5 in a row at rossapenna in the wind and rain. seemed as if i was losing two balls off the tee every time and blanking the hole. was going well till about the 8th when the heavens opened! couldnt wait to finish!

It's a toss-up between the GM Centenary qualifier at Hanbury and the Summer Blackmoor meet last year.
Both rounds were very poor. Absolutely nothing went right, nothing worked and I walked off both last holes wondering what my handicap actually was as I'd missed the true one by a dozen or more shots

last friday, invation day at woodhall, been having lessons, now ive gone from slicing to duck hooking everything ,even a 8 iron, couldnt stop it,and couldnt keep the ball in play, the lad who i had invited played great aswell i just couldnt give him and back up we finished 3 off the lead and 1 out the prizes,i got on the card about twice,im sure i would of walked off if it had been any other comp

couple of years ago in a monthly medal walked off after 8 holes.

Hit every fairway with the driver and sh*nked all my irons, lost a whole box of balls. 28 over after 8 holes with two pars in there.

Not very nice;(

Played a comp in Manchester back in 2003 (ish), Playing well until a guy from a group playing the hole which ran alongside the fairway I was on decided to slice his driver right into my neck/shoulder from about 60 yards. I vaguely remember picking myself up off the floor whilst wondering who had dropped a brick on me. Fortunately enough I had a frozen bottle of water in the bag which I used for the remainder of the round (Yes, I was stupid enough to carry on playing with only 1 working arm). Cue a trip to the Doctors and an enforced lay off of 2 years, which extended to 7 years.

The upside of the story is that due to the fact that no-one won the nearest the pin comp, we managed to award the prize for "nearest the Captain" to the doofus who apparently couldnt count to FORE...

Oh, and the shoulder still causes me problems now.....

I played at Pitlochry last Saturday and lost 8 balls and just couldn't hit anything straight off the tee, slices pulls hooks and every other shot you could think of.
I had an absoloute mare and every shot I attempted to play I fluffed it, it was so embarrassing.

Being put out last at a society day round a reasonable track with the oldest and highest handicap member. Dont get me wrong, the guy is great company but at 80 something years old, he was spraying them everywhere and managing to lose a 50 yard shot in the rough etc. Think I shot about 90 that day. Grub was nice afterwards though.

Went back to my old club last month to play in their Open and played like I'd never seen a golf club before. I was really hopeful I would play well, as I'd been in decent form before that, but when I got there I hit 95% of iron shots thin, and the other 5% came up short. 1 GIR all day, couldn't hole a putt and signed for 92.

On the plus side, the guys I played with were good company.

so what was the worst round you ever played not just based on the actual score.

could be the weather, company etc etc.

Could be playing at a course in beds where the greens were worse than a ploughed field, or could be getting the shanks at Hanbury Manor and walking in. Or recently it could be only managing one hole at Kingsbarns and had to be brought off the course, never felt that ill before (even sicker at the thought of paying £195.00 for one hole)

Saturday morning of a golfing break in Devon last year. Had to get up at 7, in the pouring rain, then took 11 at the Par 4 first which was meant chance i had of a good score was down the drain by 7:30!

In the junior county championship quarter finals I was 4 up with 4 to play against a Scotland international.at the 15th I had a wicked 2 foot left to righter and missed it.had another 2 putts for the match on 16 and 17 but managed to 3 putt both, then sliced oob on the 18th.managed to par the 19th and he snaked a 60 footer into the middle.easily my biggest disappointment golf wise to this day.
