played a medal comp this weekend & found out i need to spend hours on the putting green ..the putter by for is my worst club in my bag,,the problem is i find it so boring to practice ,but now i understand why they say Driving for show Putting for Dow

The "drive for show, putt for dough" argument comes up every now and then.
Important to be able to putt well but if you're putting well for double bogey because your drive went in the trees then it's not going to be worth much.

I think at the moment my "worst" club is my 21 degree hybrid - very inconsistent. I can hit a shot that any pro would be proud of and next time out it's sliced so far it's on the next fairway.........

Last time out Driver and putter were impeccable.....!

Mine has to be my G20 Hybrid 23*, i didnt get on with it when fitted for it tbh but decided i would buy it anyway and see how it got on, No change with big slices lol
Could do with having more practice with it really, either that or get a 5 wood.

Driver.

I've got so little confidence at the moment and i'm so confused as to what I'm doing that I'm at real risk of missing the ball, never mind getting it going straight.

for me its the 4 iron out of slight rough! just cant seem to get hold of it properly, and id say 80% i hit it fat!
Maybe you're being too ambitious, I'll only hit my 4 iron off tee or fairway.
Unless it's sitting really high in the rough I'll take something like a 6 or 7 iron or hybrid.

My 5 - 6 iron off the tee is my worst club, which is why I normally end up hitting my 23° hybrid which is my best club and my go to club if in trouble on a long par 4 / par 5.

Need to learn to hit my long irons better off the tee, prob teeing up too high.

3 wood or my 6 iron.

rarely get a good strike out of either of them. 6 iron is all mental, ball rarely seems to fall in the yardage required to use it. Usually always a 7 or a 5. When I do need it, mentally I am thinking its going to be hard to hit it. Enevitably with that mindset I shank it or slice it.

3 wood - next club in the bag to be replaced.

My worst club is the one between my ears :)

I need to ensure I do my pre shot routine, I played my first round today since last year. I decided to fade an 8 iron but while gripping down on the shaft a bit to take 5 yards off it. I also had to play over a bunker, these things all whizzing round in my mind meant I forgot to actually practice the shot with a few swing first, resulting in a thinned slice!

Currently my 3 and 5 woods. Just don't use them enough and then suddenly on the 17th hole it's tempting to go for it so out one comes only to be topped or thinned or every so often hit so nicely that they get a reprieve!

Keep planning to leave my driver out for some practice rounds so I have to use them off the tee and gain some confidence in them.

Funny how many people have trouble with a 3 wood, when it should be easy(well off the tee anyway)?

I have 14 really great clubs. Its the idiot on the handle thats the problem.
