Evening all......
Im playing in a medal sunday but im also going for a bounce round with me Daa and one of my playing partners for sunday morning on saturday......
As the course will be set up for sundays medal early saturday it'll be a good opertunity to get a feel for the way it will play.......

Iv checked the weather for the weekend and sunday is the best day with moderate breeze and little rain with sunshine.....Similar on saturday but a little more rain.

Is there anything i can do on the saturday that may give me a slight edge on sunday as my last 3 rounds have been pretty decent(not saying that im going to have a blinder or anything) but anything that might give me a good score would be more than welcome.

Is there anyone on here that tend to play there course the day before there competition.....

Well if they aren't going to be moving the pins before you go out on Sunday you could make a note of the position on the green and how close they are to hazards and any slopes. That way you'll have an idea which ones you can take off and those that you need to be certain side off to avoid running off the slopes and leaving a potentially tricky 1-3 footer

Yes good shout homer. Also if it's just a bounce game and it isn't too busy maybe hit a few putts on some greens for idea on break and pace?

My course is never set up the day before. New holes and the greens are cut first thing in the morning of the comp. My only advice, try playing off the back tees as much as pos, or use less club when teeing off from the front tees on the longer holes.

They'll definately stay put Homer.....Thats the great thing about our club......For the lads that work odd shifts and certain weekend days they are accommodated to be able to play either saturday or sunday depending on the day the cant make it.......
My dad gets overtime every weekend but it switches saturday one week to sunday the following....Which is good as we can play a comp every weekend regardless of what day he works.

Try not 2 take this the wrong way pal but your trying far 2 hard!you can't force a good score.I fall into the same trap thinking this is the week normally means 0.1 goodluck for the wkend :)

What I would do (if only I got the chance to play 2 days in a row) is just take the pressure off on the bounce game and try and take a relaxed feeling onto the next day.

This is what i was thinking myself........

For some strange reason my cuts have come in medal rounds(stroke play).......I havent a clue why becuase this is usually when the course plays tough.....

Do you play two rounds the same at present? me neither, so just enjoy both games and see what happens. I don't think anything you can do on Sat will help for Sun.

Truth be known DB....No.... :D
I always play once a week at the weekends unless its early summer and i ban get out midweek........
Still ill enjoy it anyway i s'pose

There are a few tips you can pick up from playing saturday for the game sunday,i-e wether the greens are holding a ball when thrown all the way or do you have to bounce it short.Of course the way you hit the ball could be different but thats ameteaur golf for you.In fact there are quite a few things you should learn, imo.

Good luck for your Sunday medal Kid2, I'm sure your prep on the Saturday will be worth it. Have a mental note on pin positions and go from there. I wouldnt worry to much about anything else since it's your home course and you know how to play around it. Only pin positions will change week to week so note them saturday and your on your way! Good luck! :)
