Anyone have any good contacts or tips in helping my sister reduce her policy. Having booked her test we looked online on the comparrison sites, the cheapest we found for a 20year old student limited to 5k a year was 1950 Third party fire & theft in a 1.0 12v corsa, couldnt find anything else as cheap.

I cant see how they can justify £38 per week insurance.

Forget it!!!

I sold my old 2.0 petrol VW Bora to a 24yr old a few months ago as it was on 180,000 miles and he wanted to do it up.

He was quoted £4300 a year insurance!!!!

I suppose one has to consider the financial cost of addressing a potential claim - say, a young person maimed for life who was a passenger or an innocent bystander.

It would be interesting if the insurance bureau released the average cost of claims.

I remember a mini inflicting damage on a rather large car on a roundabout on the A1, the person in the passenger seat of the big car was a young surgeon and an international player of some rackets game - left in a wheelchair for life and deprived of his chosen career.

Mega payout(£1.5m I think) even away back then when the premiums were £50 pa.

We had the same problem

the solution......Put all 3 cars on Admiral Multicar

My Picasa has come down from 420 to 280
The Bosses cleo down from 220 to 180 and
Alison's 206 with her as main driver is £570
She has just turned 17 and granny donated her old banger)

We had quotes well over £1500 so its a winner each way

Tell them Fragger Sent You

Fragger :D

Sounds a good idea if you can get junior on at that sort of price.

I tried Admiral for a multicar quote on my and Mrs Leftie's cars and it worked out about 25% more than our individual prices with different insurers.

Confused.com rules OK :D :D
