There are plenty of cases where people are caught and taken to court but the punishments are usually paltry and repayments (if enforced) are at a laughable rate.

These are ones I've found in quick searches but know there was a case in the press a while back where someone was caught owing over 100K and I'm sure the repayments were set at something like £10-20 per week. In work now so can't spend time looking for the article but three random articles where significant amounts are involved and jail sentences minimal and the impact to the taxpayer significant
