you favorite era for Music

80s for me.
So many Hard Rock/Metal bands at their best
Up to the Hammy Odeon a couple of times a month, Wembley Arena for the big boys and the Nags Head in Wycombe for local bands.
Also frequented Reading Uni - saw some good bands there as well.

Thought it was brilliant.
Liam might not be everbodys cup of tea,but he was a brilliant front man.
His latest stuff is quality.

Listening to the story about them and the crystal meth made me feel ill, can't imagine how they felt

I saw Liam last month in Birmingham, loved it. Took me right back to my school days.

When I saw Oasis he just stood in front of the microphone with his parka zipped up, didn't impress me at all.

Deffo 80's. When you had a choice between, punk, northern soul, new romance, Motown, soft and heavy rock, re emergence of mod and rock and roll music. Forget the music which ever kind you followed. There was the fashion that went hand in hand with it.
For the last 20 years when ave been down town on the beer. Looking around hardly anyone dresses hand in hand with there music. Everyone looks similarly dressed.
Back in the mid eighties I went to me aunties who lived north of Portsmouth
( Horndean) Me and Missis T went shopping in Pompey. I bought some new romance gear and looked the danglies. The fashion was two years ahead of Mansfield. First night out in Mansfield I was stopped more times and asked where I got my gear from. You knew how people dressed what music they liked.
80's all the way.

As someone born in 1971 I really hated the 80's, most unfortunate. Love the 60's.

However there are bands from other era's that are my favourite, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, CCR, Eagles, Cranberries, Passenger, Van Morisson, Billy Idol, ELO all top my lists.

Regardless of decade over 99% of songs are mince and the world would be no different if they’d never been recorded. Especially hate all depressing tracks about an artist’s ‘failed love’ that they want us to endure (like I care!)

I’ve been going through a lot of compilation albums recently from the 60’s onwards (very hard to stomach a whole album by any one artist) and just started going through the ‘Now’ series again from the beginning (which will confirm the above stat if anyone wanted evidence)

I’d struggle to choose a particular fav decade because of all the dross in it clouding the good stuff but if I had to pick one it’d prob be the 70’s

78-82, The Clash, early Spandau Ballet (First two albums), Visage.
Then 94/95 ish. Bluetones, Suede, Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene.
Not the same decade I know. If I had to pick a decade it would be 80's. Looking back most of it was rubbish, but at the time, we were living the dream. :)
