Yet another NHS thread

Don't believe all the spin, my 87yr old mother needed to be taken into hospital last Thursday, unfortunately no ambulances available early afternoon and by late afternoon hospitals in Lothian weren't taking in any new patients. Good support from GP to manage situation at home, but, when your GP says you need to be in hospital, and there are no beds it's a bit of a problem. All is not sweetness and light in our hospitals at the moment.

I had a young niece who ended up in hospital in Edinburgh over the course of that week.
From what I am told her treatment was superb.

Can Hobbit find any Grampian figures for the Christmas week 2017/8 ?

The official figures for Nov/Dec won’t be available till Feb. The cynic in me thinks the SNP are playing sound bite politics.... how they get the figures before they’ve been collated is .... amazing.

You should know by now that the SNP don't play that game.

They just love correcting all the embarrassing 'SNP BAD' stories.
Strangely enough the Unionist papers don't display the corrections in the same form as the headlines.

What utter tosh!

I well remember lie after lie in the run up to the referendum vote. The rubbish they spout about the finances in Scotland is laughable. I had 18 years of working with NHS Scotland and can honestly say that it has fallen dramatically in the last few years.

There are some great successes in NHS Scotland, and Golden Jubilee is probably the best hospital in the UK, but if you honestly believe the SNP have collated those figures in 3 working days you are sadly deluded.

Not according to the BBC, but they may be biased.

My brother-in-law is a paramedic in Scotland, in his words not mine "The NHS in Scotland in on its knees, as bad if not worse than south of the boarder"

He has worked both North & South of the wall and if he had to choose he said England would be his choice.

strange how they’re biased when you don’t like what they put out there but are a trusted source when it suits your argument.

Two things; firstly, 99.9% of admin staff did not return to work till Wednesday 3rd Jan. Do you think they will have collated those numbers in 3 office days and sent them in to be added to those from each region? Secondly, it is reported on Scotland’s NHS website that the stats for Nov/Dec will not be available till Feb.

So just because an SNP minister has said x,y,z we all swoon and believe them...touch naive?

Disappointing to read he prefers south of the border. My experience over many years is NHS Scotland preform better. But he’s on the frontline and will know better than most.

There is Mis-reporting Scotland at it again.
No surprise there as the 100,000 figure was lifted, unchecked from a SLAB press release.
SLAB also embargoed 10 single day SNP/NHS Bad press release stories sent to the media to be distributed daily over the Christmas period.
Many were printed/covered without fact checking, some were years old re-hashed rubbish. Desperate behaviour from a lost cause party and lazy biased press media.
For those not in the know Sarah Smith is the late great John Smith's daughter.

BTW. for your info.
Scottish NHS A&E stats are collated weekly.
