Hi folks, we have an xbox at home, it usually sits doing nothing, only used once all summer, but with the dark nights we will hopefully use it more.
My question is two fold,
1 are there any good games for the family, we have the Kinect and dance something or other and the sports one, any others?
2 games for me, I like assassins creed games, just got revelations, so 3 maybe an opt, also like fps, but didn't enjoy black ops, is 2 better, too much run and gun for me in one, liked moh and Mw, is hitman worth a look?
Thanks
JT

We use our kinect for video calls via msn with family. Not really played many games but the kids have an animals one they like. Re grown up games. I can't look past black ops, I am hoping for black ops 2 from Santa!

We Also use ours for A DVD player.

Hitman is worth a look. For fps try far cry 3 out on Friday as is meant to be superb. Also look at dishonored which is a cross between a fps and assassins creed. If you do not mind a bit of strategy and want something a bit different then cannot recommend xcom highly enough

Assassins Creed 3 definitely worth a look imo, not big on the Black Ops games think they become a little to tedious and need a new direction.

Also worth looking at the latest Fable game, got hooked on this with Fable 3 even though not my usual type of game was superb and hoping the jolly fatman pops it in my xmas stocking this year.

Thanks folks, is it worth getting older ones like bf2 just for kicks, or going new ones? will prob get ac3, what about the older hitma games, thanks again.

Halo 4
007 Legends
Forza Horizon
BF3

Havent got any of them (just got an xbox for the wee fella) but these would be ones I think would be worth looking at

If you want to pick up a bargain, get the original Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter games, there were two released. A new version has recently come out (Future Soldier) but I haven't played it yet.

You can pick up new versions of Ghost Recon 1 and 2 for about a tenner each, and they're both brilliant. Quite realistic combat means there's a bit more to get your teeth into it than the MW/Black Ops series.

was thinking bf 3 dv as it looks good but is maybe more for online multiplayer?
pippa, thanks, cracking games, i had them when they came out, was thinking about the new oine too.

Avoid 007 Legends, utter rubbish from what I hear.

Battlefield games have always been more about multiplayer than the single player campaign so I have not bought one since bad company 2.

Agree with the comments on the Ghost Recon games, far more involved than your run of the mill FPS and worth a shot. The latest one, Future Soldier, is excellent and had me hooked. As I mentioned earlier, Far Cry 3 is the one that is getting the great reviews at the moment and I will be doing some trading in for a copy on Friday.

The new hitman is good. Is you want stealth, assassin action that is more grounded than assassins creed. Then there is the batman games which are also very good.

Slower paced single player fps where the you have to think more before pulling a trigger then operation flashpoint is worth a look either of the 2 titles should be cheap.

Multiplayer fps then battlefield 3 premium is a must. Doesn't require the same level of reactions as cod and you can actually top a games scoreboard without getting a single kill.

Family games then Kinect sports great fun as is fruit ninja.

Got to agree with Wolfman, wasn't going to bother with black ops 2 but a mate persuaded me and is very good, better than the last couple of attempts
Ghost recon future soldier is very good, a lot smarter than your average shooter

Also the new PS3 500GB console is superb, just changed the Wii to the new PS3 as we wanted in the lounge

New Blueray / DVD player and new family console, whisper quiet, new top loading slide acoss access to discs

Next thing will be to buy the PS Move

Can now watch Lovefilm from the PS3 to the TV
