Wasn't playing today so had a general round yesterday and put the scores in WHS .
Had the round of my life and as you can see my previous index was 18.9 but now its dropped to 17.0.
I was expecting a drop of 1-1.1 so 17.9ish
Looking at my scores my previous index should of been 18.0 not 18.9 hence the drop to 17.0

Was my previous 18.9 wrong ???

Don't forget the low index and the soft anchor etc

Mine got held lower than should be because I went up too many shots then when went down didn't go down enough

No, your previous index was correct.
Because you returned an exceptional score (7 or more better than handicap), each of your most recent 20 score differentials now include a -1.0 exceptional scoring reduction. The calculation prior to your last round was as follows:
(16.6 + 18.3 + 19.1 + 20.8 + 16.6 + 18.3 + 20.8 + 20.8) / 8 = 18.9125 = 18.9

The 16.6 is now the 21st score so unaffected by the ESR, but all the other SDs are now 1.0 lower than before.

Cheers @wjemather

Just read all about it ... It happened to me under the old system when i was first starting out but you had to have 2 or 3 exceptional scores in a row for the 1 shot reduction to be triggered
