Can anyone recommend good winter gloves that are waterproof, warm and can still be used to play with.
Normal golf gloves and pairs of winter gloves get damp/wet and freeze my hands and my Zippo hand warmer struggles to take the edge of the cold.
I have seen "Sealskinz" gloves advertised that are waterproof and have a grip coating at £25, has anyone tried them or are there any other recommendations.

Lovesome Supergrip horse riding gloves work well for me.
Cost about a tenner.
My wife was about to chuck an old but little used pair into the charity box when I tried them on and thought they might make decent winter golf gloves. I never wear golf gloves but found these guid. [that last word was just to upset D4S!]

Sealskinz are better for fishing and shooting.

I have:
MacWets, great in the rain but not really warm due to the mesh back.
Galvin Green Winter Playing Gloves, really warm on cold windy days but not recommended in the rain from what I hear.

I see a gap in my setup here, wet windy cold days! Better off at home anyway I guess...

I think you'll have to go a long way to beat the Under Armour cold weather golf gloves (make sure you get the right size though).

I appear to have grown out of my galvin green ones a little, they were perfect when I first got them, either they have shrunk a tiny bit or I have grown! They still fit pretty well, just the palm area feels a little shorter than other gloves do.

the interpretation of 'still be used to play with' is extremely wide - personally nothing that's warming will meet this criteria for me.

Far better to have a quality set (not cheap) of waterproof mitts that can be easily slid on and off to make your shot (possibly with another pair of thinner gloves still on!)

I agree, a pair of macwets for when it's raining and a pair of mitts for between shots! Golf gloves have to be very thin so are never going to be that warm!

I have tried these as well as the FJ ones, they are great in wet but when wet freeze my hands. The UA gloves are tight for the size letter compared with other makes.
I yhink I will try the "Lovesome Supergrip" if I can find them. Thanks for the replies.

Having passed through Ballachulish on the way back down the road on Sunday night I was looking over to the Dragons Tooth and thinking I need to sample that place again as I really liked it.

I think it is a great course and in marvelous condition and play 6 days a week. Now has 18 tees 9 greens, for the winter only 9 tees playing off mats and only when frozen on temp greens, when not on winter restrictions it is a great challenge in my opinion.
