Usually connecting to a laptop will enable you to file transfer to the SIM storage.

I'd make sure you copy the data to your laptop in a 'comma' separated file format and stick it in Exel as a backup since the process invariably has glitches.

Just to clarify, its exporting contacts from the phone to the SIM card.

From a search I don''t think its possible, so guess I'll just have to copy them to paper

Wanted to transfer contacts to my SIM so I could just put it in a new phone.

My research leads me to believe contacts are stored on the phone in Windows so no option to export from phone to SIM.

When I have done similar have done online.
However search for contacts backup in the app store and there are some free apps. Can push to say csv and the import onto new device.
