When Man u finish the season with nothing to show for it, will Fergie get the ceremonial boot up the jacksie that he should have got 20 years ago when the mighty Crystal Palace beat them 3-3 in the cup final?

He'll get the boot the same day the Queen declares she's a Roman Catholic.

Beaten 3-3 :mmm:

He won't get the chop, they'll do what they've always done. Splash out in the transfer market and try and buy the league.

Difference now is the noisey neighbours have more cash to spend than them.

ManU probably spend less than most of the top teams. Get them young and bring them on. Just look at the money they have made selling players on and compare that to what they spend.

^^^ Like Eric Djemba Djemba

So good they named him twice.

I take it you've over done the celebrations from winning the winter league Chris and 'your not glad all over anymore"! Sack no chance and don't drink all the sherry might need a drop on Sunday night after hughsies QPR pull off a shock??

Yes but..... Stoke only started with a squad valued at £22.50!

This is very true

Buy the league? Sjoke City have spent more than United over the last 5 years of the Premier League.

Really.

De Gea, Smalling, Jones, Hernandez, Young..... Circa £61M spent just there.

I don't think our club is worth that much so doubt very much if we've spent more than that.

We did go mad in one transfer window and buy Crouch, Palacious and Jerome and spent about £23m....... Or roughtly the same UTD payed for Ashley (Olympic diving hopeful) Young.

I'm sure if you research your comment you'll find it very inacurate.

I don't think you will see any flamboyant spending, since the glazers took over the spending has decreased year on year.
I'd say the Glazers are taking every penny possible out club to pay the huge debt. Where has all the Ronaldo money dissappeared to.
Then you have Fergie towing the line by saying there's no point spending because there's no value in the market.
This is just to appease the 90% of supporters who expect nothing less than success and trophies every year.
The other 10% of clued up reds can see what's going on but don't seem to do anything about it, the green and gold thing died off after a few wins.
There is no money to spend, and as long as the Glazers are at old Trafford I honestly think you will see United slipping away.
They have been keeping there head above water finacially by winning trophies over the last few years.
But I think now we may start to see a change.

Personally I don't care anymore.

They reckon UTD already have Gaitan from Benfica signed up for the summer so upwards of £20 mil for him, I dont think the spending has finished just yet. As for Stoke spending more in the last 5 years than UTD I have to say I find that very hard to believe. I looked on the web and from 2006 to 2011 UTD spent £204 Million on players and that is not including last summers splurge of De Gea,Young and Jones so very unlikely I would say.

The biggest problem old red nose has is trying to replace Giggs and Scholes. That would take upwards of £60-70 million alone to (a) get the quality needed, and (b) young enough to make the investment worthwhile. Unfortunately Man City and Chelsea have more money, and Barca and Real equal if not more pedigree and stature, to attract the worlds best players.

Come on" P" QPR to spring a suprise? you've got to be on the really hard stuff !!

Anyway, after they sacked our old boss Warnock I want them down and as for Hughes moving to a bigger club from Fulham - now that is funny!

Gaitan will be Scholes replacement and he his not vey old either. Whether he is up to it who knows but he is certainly going to be costly.
