We bought a Wickes kitchen back in 2017 and over the last year the longer door on the integrated fridge freezer has started to bow, so we have gradually been adjusting this to keep the seal so the fridge doesn't Ice up ( the bow is most noticeable at.the bottom and you need to push it now to make sure the door closes).

I went into the store to speak to kitchen dept to check the warranty status and availability of replacement doors, no problem says the salesmen, 10 year warranty and doors still available. He said leave it with me and I'll chase it up, that was a month ago.

I emailed them today, reply came back was that bowing likely due to water ingress and not covered. He will.forward me the details tomorrow.

Any advice please

TIA.

honestly? I'd weigh up how much the door is vs how much you want to get into an argument with a faceless corporate entity and probably just buy the door and be done with it.

At 8 years old I'm surprised they can find you the correct door to be honest, but at the same time a warranty is a warranty and I'd argue the cost to them is even less of a consideration than to you as previously mentioned - a free door now might be £15k on a kitchen in 3 years time...

Maybe have a moan, get the part no, have another moan and if you're not getting anywhere just buy it online.

Bowing was “likely” due to water ingress.
So they didn’t inspect it and have any proof?
I’m surprised they didn’t just replace it. You might want to think about asking their social media people. I’ve had positive and quick responses sending a DM to companies on Twitter.

ps I don’t bother with “built in” fridges or washing machines. More hassle than they are worth to me.

Seen plenty of decor doors bow on fridge freezers. Most of the time you can make the necessary adjustments so it doesn’t affect the closure of the appliance door.

Make a complaint, if they accept all well and good. If they say no, suck it up, buy a new door and get on with life. Much more important things going on in the world and life is too short for these sort of things to drag on.

Finally got a reply back from Wickes.

I hope you are well,

Im sorry but boding of this manner is indicative of external moisture ingress which is void of the items warranty and as such we cannot assist.

Kind regards

A fridge kitchen door should be able to do the job it was designed for!

So after 2 months of haggling they have agreed to replace the fridge door that is bowed, but only after I bypassed the store and went straight to customer complaints.
This was only after I took multiple picture of the door using the fridge door as reference to frame the bowing.
I couldn't do this for the other doors as it's not as noticeable without the reference point.
No mention of water ingress which was their first excuse not to replace under warranty.

First round won and we'll see how the colour match is before I go back in.
