Following on from a couple of peoples posts, what are the main reasons that you can hit it so high with the driver.

I ask this as I was playing yesterday all my drives were extremely high. I was getting decent carry but nearly no roll as the ball was coming down near enough straight.
I tried teeing the ball lower and putting it further back in my stance but it didn't seem to work. When I tried to alter my swing to keep it
lower I ended up messing it up.

My driver is 12* loft with a regular ping tfc shaft so what I'm thinking it could be that.

High loft = high launch angle plus high spin rate = no roll
This is covered in a custom fit.
Optimum launch angle plus good spin rate gives you the maximum carry and roll.
Were you fitted for your driver as 12 deg is rather alot?

12 degrees is quite a lofted Driver, and if you have a reasonably fast swing, this, paired with the regular Ping shaft will send the ball skywards.
What you need is a lower lofted club (say 10.5 degrees) fitted with something like a Prolaunch Red shaft in regular that I guarantee will hit the ball on a lower trajectory, bringing much satisfaction and plenty of roll.
Now I wonder who could have one of those for sale in the "for sale/wanted" section????
:p

Haven't you sold that yet?
How did the new toy behave yesterday?

This would suit me down to the ground. SO, the question is...do you swing it faster than me? in which case...if it's a lot, then expect some snow on your balls!

You said it. :)

(is there some double entendre in there?)

I have a P-L red in a 13 degree driver.....no snow at all.....

If I put the tfc ping in it, I'd expect some aircraft disturbance.

I wasnt bob, I bought it after trying one out at the range. I hadnt been playing very long, only about 2 or 3 months. Ive still only been playing about 10-11 months but my swing speed is alot faster now.

Do you think a fitting would be best to sort this out?

That was a 18 deg rapture that I bent 40 yards round the trees. 30 would have been perfect (

Shame. If you had been in the middle of the fairway like I was, a straight shot would have done. Then you might have got your 70
;) ;) ;)

As it was a blind tee shot and I hit my driver over the marker pole, I expected it to be in the middle.
Unfortunately, as it slopped about 45 degrees from right to left, my drive kicked violently into the left rough.
Only a huge slice would hold the fairway. Where were you again? :D ;)
