Setting off on hols tomorrow, nothing new there, but this year I'm worrying that I'll forget something crucial.
Is this an age thing?
When I was younger I justdidn't give a damn .................................... but now!!!

Sad to say, yes. I find the whole experience stressful until I actually reach my accommodation. I'm annoyed with myself for this but it is what it is.

Funnily enough if I travel with work, on my own, I feel no stress whatsoever.

That’s probably because you care more about your family than you do about yourself.

As long as it’s clean I’m pretty happy tbh.
But the Mrs is a right stress head.

Ok time to admit my geek levels.... Since me and the Mrs have been together (10 years married this year) we have 2 Excel files saved on the pc..... One is a 1 week holiday packing list and the other is a 2 week holiday packing list.

Both have been amended/updated over the years, but now we have a ready to go list that covers us.

On a practical level I get all of the paperwork together a few days before and lay it out. Passports, driving licences, insurance, flight tickets, accomodation, cash etc. I put documents in clear plastic folders and place them and other things in my 'holiday rucksack'. I'll check it again the night before but everything stays in the bag. My wife will go through it once as well.

As long as I have that rucksack I know we are okay. Everything else can be bought if necessary at the other end. Inconvenient but possible.

My other stresses are just other stresses but having a holiday bag like this may help you with your worries.

I have a spreadsheet list for every different type of holiday! "UK No Golf" "UK Golf" "UK Dogs" "UK Short Golf Break" "Abroad Golf" etc etc!!

I too stress until I'm there and checked in and unpacked.

Why would I worry? I have a wife.

"Remember, we're going on holiday tomorrow. Have you put some clothes in a case? Yes? Ok, drive me to the airport ! "

Success every time.

When we go on a break my missus usually waits until we are 2 miles down the road to say 'you did lock the back door, didn't you'.

To be fair, she is Mrs Organized so never any packing worries on my behalf.
We were stretched a bit last year when a one week trip turned into a 4 week trip due to MIL difficulties.

Well, at least I'm not the only stresser.
All essentials, I think, are packed, including ski boots ........................... that'd be an expensive mistake.
Oh, foreign plug adapters and recharge cables, where did I put those?
Aaaggghhh.

I feel that if you are worrying then you will naturally be fully prepared.
Let's hope advertising you are on holiday.....................................

Friend of mine was at the airport once and told his wife that he wished he brought the TV. "Why? Are you bored waiting?" she said. "No the passports are on top of it" he replied.

I'll get my coat.

My stress of holidays goes only as far as packing my own small case the night before. Making my usual comment that we need a Wetherspoons brekkie & a pint of Guinness before we fly no matter what time it is.

Everthing else Mrs Wolf takes care of as I'm apparently to relaxed to worry when it comes to holidays I just have to get up and drive to airport. Don't even pack the car as she believes I'll forget something. I wouldn't forget anything at all truth be told, but she prefers it this way and who am I to get in the way 😂 best off being relaxed and doing as I am told

If you are going for more than 13 days and we leave the EU have you remembered all the extras you will need as a result?

Whoops too late I see this thread started yesterday.
