I am all booked up,Caravan at Kinkell Braes for ten days and purchased my week ticket for a great price of £200....can't wait as St Andrews is a magical place during Open week...pubs and restaurants are jumping and it's good for a bit of star spotting. :cool:

Might give Tiger a call and see if he fancies going oot to tap the local flap. :D

Taking the clubs up so may squeeze in a game or two Steve.................... ;) ;)
 
Am going on the Sunday so far as am working Wednesday to Saturday night , more than welcome to come for a few games at my place Alan.
 
Sounds like a plan mate , are you up on your own?. Love St Andrews ,its my favourite place we go there a lot ,just to walk about along the beach or in the town for a few swallys ,its got an atmosphere about it.
 
Mum,Dad (who plays...badly now)and my burd....I am sure Mr Martin may possibly make an appearence for a night in the caravan of love.

Aye my Fav place on earth,never miss an Open up there as it is just magic the atmosphere.
 
Yip. I'll be there at some point. Been to the last two there and it's becoming a bit of a tradition. The transport from Edinburgh is always laid on really well and it's a special buzz at the Old Course despite the fact it's not the best viewing course.
 
I've never been to a tournament before. How good is it? Do you tend to take your sticks and play local courses as well or is just for soaking up the spectacle. Coverage on the beeb is pretty good but judging by the comments above being there is so mch better...why us that?
 
We get free tickets at work just got to hope I'm not stuck at Leuchars or Dundee station for the duration, :(

I would be up for a game or two midweek also, can see about a game at Gleneagles on a reduced rate through my brother in law if anyone fancies it.
 
John you mentioned staying in Edinburgh is that the best place to get a b&b for a day or two for the open?. At Troon I stayed the week in Glasgow and that worked realy well
 
working in Edinburgh on the Thursday so have got a ticket for Friday, can't wait, haven't been to St.Andrews before. Might try and sneak a game in if there's anything going on.
 
I've got two tickets for Sunday but not booked any digs yet. Can anybody recommend anywhere assuming it's not too late.

I would be amazed if you get anywhere within the town....loads of great b&b's but I reckon they will be full and the minimum stay will I would say be 4/5 nights.Tent would be ya best bet.
 
i`ve got a nice comfy shed on offer !! walkin distance down to the course ..seriously if anyone`s lookin for accomodation `pm` me and i`ll make enquires ..no promises ..as usually there all booked up by now ..but i`ll ask around ...cheers gcd ;)
