Who's going down from the most over rated league in the world?

I think we'll be OK, hopefully a new defender and keeper in January should see us stay up, if only by the skin of our teeth. Although truth be told I wouldn't be unhappy to go back to the Championship and stay there.
Fingers crossed Red**app gets relegated again. Sorry to any QPR fans, I have nothing at all against your club, but if that bloke staggered alight out of a burning building I would cross the road and pee in a bush...

Qpr, reading and villa for me.
As a Newcastle fan, I think there are worse teams than us this season, thankfully. And believe we will have a better second half to the season, hopefully when ba goes cisse will step up, and we can hopefully make a couple signings and get cabaye and Ben arfa fit. Fingers crossed.
Wigan are close as are Southampton to the drop so both could get drawn in if villa pick up, but def feel that qpr and reading are done for.

I'm going for QPR, Villa and Reading. All have looked poor this season and just don't score enough goals to keep up especially at the rate Villa are conceding them at the moment :)

thought you was talking about the scottish premier league by your title

Certainly would agree that the SPL is the most over rated league in the world. Just look at the coverage BBC give it on national news programmes and yet there is currently only one club of stature in the league.
The remainder would struggle in League 1 in England.
As for original question : QPR, Reading & Villa.

In my humble Geordie opinion I thnk Newcastle will stay up. Letting my heart have it's say, we'll make a couple of decent signings this January and havea good run in, do pretty well in Europe and be the only club in the EPL with a balance sheet that shows us in the black.

My head however tells me, Newcastle are going to struggle, the team losing faith with Pardew and Newcastle will do the usual merry go round of letting a departing manager spend the kitty so that the new manager coming in has nowt to spend.

That written Newcastle play Everton on Wednesday night, we'll get beat again, this will leave Mr Ashley wondering when to get shot of his best pal, before, we get beat off Brighton in the cup or afterwards.

No doubt.Probably because most of the teams up here try to live within their means, unlike clubs in England, where racking up combined debts of Billions of pounds to satisfy the masses of newby football fans who think football started with Nick Hornby and Rupert Murdoch whilst chasing the mythical dream of EPL survival, all at the expense of the moral fibre of the league and clubs involved. The English football leagues are a true reflection of England as a country....living on tick, selling their soul to foreign ownership, and pretending everything is hunky dory.

I'll stick with the reality of The SPL,thanks, where it might be grim sometimes, but it's honest.

As one who has actively followed his club for 50+ years I whole heartedly agree with your assessment of English football.
However, does Scottish football not reflect Scotland. Kidding itself about its own importance & relying on handouts; and as for honest..........Have we all forgotten a certain club in Glasgow.

Liverpool were lucky to get through the Europa cup tie against Hearts this season.
Fair do's they are a mid table club but some folk still rate them.

Now the OP has got what he wanted... Time to bin the thread?

No keep it going.
The big gulf between English and Scottish Football is that a team in England can be £122 MILLION pounds in debt yet are still playing.
Anyone know just how they can solve this kind of debt without thier academy producing two Ronaldos.

Not sure about kidding itself about its importance?People who follow a team up here discuss their team and their rivals, and as for handouts, not sure what that means?Generally, we live within our means?

And as the Rangers thread on here showed, everyone outside Govan wanted strong sanctions.

Yes but whenever an English team beats one from Scotland they are (apparently) lucky.
Still must go I've just seen the time .
It's nearly ten past Haffey. (I told you I was old!!)

Jeez thats going back a bit!

Anyway as the old football cliche says "your only as good as your last result" and as the last time there was a Scotland v England match Scotland won 1-0 thus proving without doubt that Scotland are better than England :p;)

Well, my team in the PL has made an operating profit for the first time since winning promotion. I'm quite proud of them for doing that. Not sure why AD felt compelled to have a dig at the entire English population though. Pretty pointless in my opinion.

It should also be pointed out that there are far more teams in England than those represented in the PL. Small clubs, supported by local people, struggling to survive on a meagre budget. Just like everywhere else really. A far bigger problem in football is the Glory Hunter. Armchair fans who deprive their local club of much needed funds by preferring to line the pockets of the big clubs whilst living 100+ miles away from the ground. Is that just a problem in England? I don't think so.

You are right and I apologise.Whenever I visit England, there does seem to be an over-representation of United/City/Chelsea etc And that's not a problem in just England, my particular bug bear is people from Edinburgh who support the Old Firm.Glory seeking muppets, part of the problem of Scotland when teams like Hibs or Hearts could have 5000 more at their games contributing to their possible success, they choose to go west and line the pockets of The OF.

the same issue lies with Juve,Madrid and Bayern, too.Glory seeking is a worldwide disease.

You're right. My biggest "problem" at the moment is the amount of Man U, Liverpool, Man C fans in Wigan. Every year when Liverpool and Man U fans visit the DW, you should see the banners in the away end. Wigan Reds Supporters Club etc. I mean, why would you take pride in it? Is winning trophies worth advertising the fact that you're a Judas low life?

Absolutely agree (and Adi I am sorry to hear the same problem exists in Scotland).
I get fed up asking these muppets which part of Manchester, Liverpool or London they come from only to be greeted with a blank expression in response.
You should only be allowed to support your local team or another if there is a family history.
