I'd call it gentle ribbing rather than slagging.
When somebody so young, playing of his handicap posts that he hit a 361 yard drive, had a hole in one, is canning putts from all over the place and shot a 59, I think they leave themselves open to it a little bit.

Back to the original topic, it seems to me this is just a publicity stunt.

The same driver is sold for much less by the same store. This one is valued much higher to make it stand out and people look at it. Once they do this, the description is a press release\advert.

In my opinion this is just as bad as the people who join a forum to spam. The people who sell\make this club didn't want to pay the proper amount for advertising, so they pay pennies to put up an ebay auction to do it for them instead.
