That's what so many clubs allow now, don't they? They are businesses first.
Take the money, and the player(s) go off on to the course. How many playing like that?.
I remember when most clubs required to see a handicap certificate.
That's why.
When golf came back after Lockdown #1 our Covid rules stated that only the player could mark his own card. When submitting cards for handicap, we just had to sign 3 cards and submit them for review - they didnt have to be played with someone you didnt know. We are asked if we have held a handicap previously but he never has. The chap just fudged his cards to give himself a vanity cap - clearly.
Ill point out - hes the worst golfer ive ever seen. Would legitimately need a handicap of 100 to compete with even me over 18 holes and I think id still win. Im not even joking.
I feel sorry for the guys who had to play that medal with him.
