Just ordered a pair of wedges from Whitlam golf. A 54 and a 58 to replace my Vokeys (which have had the newness worn off them in more ways than one).

Forged in Japan, and hand milled in the States.

I have no ides what these will be like, as it is a huge (and expensive) gamble. They have a deal on at the moment which lessens the pain a little, but a gamble none the less.

I will report in when they arrive.

Murph, the likes of MD golf (based in Co. Antrim) have their heads manufactured in me ol' China too and they are milled over here iirc, very good quality.

MD make some nice (and sensibly priced) kit, as do others, I just fancied something a bit more unusual. Thought about fourteen, or royal collection, but ended up with whitlam.

Murph, sorry mate, I was trying to say that most heads are made in china these days so dont worry too much on quality. I wasnt mentioning MD as a possiuble sales pitch! haha.

My guess is the quality will be superb, it is more whether I actually like the weight, looks, bounce, lie, feel, etc. Certainly on the web, and piccys from the mags, they look fantatic. It will be interesting to compare them to my SM vokeys in terms of feel.
They may end up hanging on hooks, getting a daily polish. Much too pretty to use. They might get scratched.

I know what you mean about the looks. I think from the top, they will be fairly classic, but from the back, the milled cavity is a bit interesting. Possibly a bit too American.
