I downloaded the tour tempo app for only £15 and it really seemed to help - the only aid that has come close to transforming my game in a few sessions and knocking 2 shots off the handicap.
As a result I'm big on things that help tempo. I'd certainly recommend tour tempo as an inexpensive place to start.
