Which would you prefer (low score or consistency?)

Mistake free golf every time for me. I constantly play rounds where, like last week i have a smattering of pars, a birdie, a few bogeys and then - wait for it BLOBS! The blobs anoy me so much because they come out of nowhere. There may be one per rond or there may be three. A good drive, a decent second.....but hold on although it was a great strike it has wandered of line and when i get up there it is in a bunker, up against the fence, in a hazard etc etc. The rest is history as they say.

Well looking at it from another point of view, no round is perfect so thinking about it this way ideally for me I would prefer to have a low score.
Although long term i would prefer to have the consistency ;)

I don't mind scoring badly if I've hit the ball poorly but the thing that frustrates me is when you have a great ball striking round and are only fractionally off hitting greens or can't buy a putt and so don't score as well as you've hit it.

great question!

You can have a round where you consistently duff your approach shot but chip it stone dead for easy pars - that's consistency isn't it?!

For me the prospect of shooting a low score is what keeps golf interesting. The perfect round (relatively speaking) for me may only happen once (it may have already happened!), but I always believe I can do better, even if I am playing like a tool at the moment!

I would say that they go hand in hand the majority of the time, consistency will breed low scores and visa versa.

If I had to choose one, it would be low score.
