Hi all,

Apologies in advance for what is a very basic question - i'm just starting out and have been passed a set of Callaway big bertha irons. Would be grateful if anyone could provide any info as to how old these are/what type of irons they are?

A club which possibly had more to do with improving players games than any other before or since.

Those are the 2004-2005 version.

Still fit for purpose - great clubs for someone just starting out - providing length is suitable.

They look like 2004 vintage Big Bertha irons, aimed squarely at the higher handicapper - and they probably don't come much more forgiving!
They could last you a long time but check the shafts are OK - no pitting or rust - and maybe the grips will need a change.
All in all a decent set to start with.

Thanks for your insight, all.

The grips are in a decent condition, although there seems to be a bit of pitting on the 5 & 7 iron. Any advice on preventing it from spreading other than keeping the iron clean after use?
