Which pro could you beat

The fact that we can even contemplate this topic is the great thing about golf, If we were talking about tennis, football, athletics or any other sport it would be a ridiculous concept.

No, I think you can add golf to that list. No club golfer would have a cat in hell's chance against a tour pro.

C'mon guy's lets not put ourselves down, lets not forget for every par we get the pro is gonna most likely need a birdie, I dont care if it's Tiger or Monty send one down and I'll have a damn good go at him. It would at least make a great feature in the mag eh.

Why not? The pro off scratch maybe you have a point. But if an amateur (like me) played a pro off +4 and I got a full h'cap allowance, that'd be 15 shots!! Surely, there's a chance.

I think off full allowance (+4 or so to my 11) then I'd be confident of putting up a reasonable show and certainly wouldn't fear 10&8 or an olf fashioned do licence but still not sure it'll be possible win. I've played some top darts players (Deller, Bristow, Lowe) and always managed to give them a run and even took two legs of Bob Anderson but they were in exhibition surroundings and so they were far more relaxed than in a torunament situation. I think the same would apply for a game against a tour pro. They'd be relaxed but the first hint of an upset and they'd be through the gears and stiffing most approach shots.

Not sure about the tour pros.

But I have beat our club pro we played for a lesson I got one free if I won if not I had to book not my original one but two.

But I beat him :)

I just meant that with the handicap system in golf we could at least give it a go. With tennis a pro would hit an ace every time, with football they would run rings around us and with athletics we'd still be at the starting blocks when they are over the line.

I couldn't beat any.

I don't think I've even beaten Smiffy yet and Murphthemog is indestructable

No wait!.. Smiffy had about 20points at Tyrrells Wood I think SURELY I beat him then :D
