Which money no object gear

Dont think spending lots of money on equipment will do any good, its what you do with it that counts! Im happy with what ive got.

It would if you're playing unsuitable gear. Now don't get me wrong, I'm HUGELY grateful, coz without the gear I've got I wouldn't have played at all last year. And I wouldn't be soooo enthusiastic about this year.

But with a swing speed somewhere in the mid 70s, to hit irons with s300 shafts doesn't leave me much room for error. And as for my illegal driver, and my 5w with a head the size of a pin, I would be quite happy spending a bit of money on new kit.

Along with the fact that the cheapest course near me is about £950, I'd say that I could do with £1500 to be in a position to play regularly. TBH I need a lottery win just to be able to afford that.

Suggestion

Take your irons to your local pro or AG and ask about a swap with a set of regular shafts. They may have a second hand set that is comparable to yours but in regular.
It's worth a try :)

Titleist DCI 962s ?

Unlikely methinks. The local pro ( the poor sod who is going to have to give me lessons once this white stuff disappears ) definately doesn't. And AG in Shoreham hasn't had anything like it in the last half dozen times I've been in.

You haven't got any contacts down this neck of the woods have you ?

However, when my swing is on fire I can hit them straight enough, it's just that they don't go very far. And when my swing isn't on fire I couldn't hit my way out of a wet paperbag, anyway.

It's just nice to dream a little every now and then ;)

I've got a lovely set of John Letters Trilogy irons that I used for a few years. Very happy with them, only really changed them because at the time I had more money than sense. I still haven't got any sense, but the money has all gone now!
They are fitted with regular graphite shafts, and are a great club to hit.
Next time we go out you are more than welcome to have a knock with them to see how you get on. I am certain you will hit them well. If you like them we can sort something out...
;) ;) ;)

and my 5w with a head the size of a pin,

What ? You cant hit a steelhead plus 5w ? Seemed to go ok when I had one :)

Titleist 962's , fantastic clubs but you're right of course , a slow swing speed wont get the best out of them. Sell them on ebay , should get over £100 for them i'd have thought

Not sure I'd change too much in the bag but i wouldn't carry it myself anymore. Money well spent on a full time caddy.

Not wanting to be wasteful with my new found riches, the caddy could double up as my driver and carry me out of the bar and pour me into the Phantom then drive me home ;)

I'd have an amazing golf wardrobe filled with stylish gear to wear on the course and a snazzy range of co-ordinated Footjoy Myjoy Icons. I'd use my new found wealth to cultivate a friendship with a member of Augusta, stroll onto the first tee looking a million dollars and then top my drive into the rough. Nice!

Slightly off topic, but i wouldn't mind one of those houses you see in the middle of the golf courses in the states, complete with playing rights of course.
