Evening everyone. A gathering of minds may help me along my path of the quest to find the eternal magic stick . I am a strapping 23 year old....that is rusty. After reaching single figures in my late teens I decided that I would instead change to hitting on girls and sinking gin and tonics. Now I am a big hitter...yet as of late I would hardly call my self a consistant sniper of the fairways. which driver on the current market is going to appeal to me? as I am very out of the loop. Previously I used an old R580 XD 9.5 with a stiff grafalloy shaft. Now I see that club heads on some brands TaylorMade, Callaway etc are only getting lighter. Which Is slightly worrying for me as I dont need a reduced weight or a 'superfastmajoogy'. Any suggestions guys?

Simple answer.

Think Titleist.

The 910 has been so popular that pretty much everyone that has the budget has dribbled and drooled their way to a custom fit for one.

Enjoy

:)

PS Welcome

Everybody is raving about the 910's! Cant go wrong with Ping though. G or I 15 if you are in single figures.......
Am sure you will have a good time shopping for one though :)
Go get fitted and have a slap!

How do you know if you don't need a light shaft or headed driver until you try? The TM Superburner 2.0 is very light club, but the distance is phenomenal. It's used on Tour....

If its been a while for you, you have plenty to chose from. I agree with above post that the 910 is highly rated, and if you go to Titliest fitter there is around 83 custom shafts to choose from  Plus you can adjust loft and lie. Driver comes in two flavours: D2 and D3. Head size is the main difference.

R11 TP may suit too, as it has a heavier shaft than the normal R11. Selling well as you can adjust flight, loft and face angle. Plus it's White if you like that thing... :p. It's maniacally expensive though.

Nike VR Pro Str8 fit is another adjustable big dog stick. Excellent shaft for strong players, and reasonably forgiving on lower centred hits with compression channel it has. Again, not cheap....

The Ping drivers are always up there in tests. G15 is a performer. The K15 is an anti-slice weighted but really aimed at higher h/cs. The i15 is the players club as it is set 2* open. Lovely looks and sound, and with Pings custom fit policy, you should get a great fit. Due to be replaced this year I think.

I don't know much about Callaways, Srixon or Cleveland, etc., so won't comment.
