I ask this because I realised yesterday what my club is and was a little surprised. My least used club is my 9 iron. I rarely use it around the green as I bump with 7/8 and chip over stuff with wedges. My lay up distances are 150 (7/8 iron) 120 (PW) 100 (GW). If I miss short to 120 it's either way short or a little short and my full PW goes (130) so it's often that or an 8 iron.

Maybe I should drop the 9 and put a 64 wedge in the bag ;)

I actually thought it would be my 3iron but I use that 2/3 times a round especially in a medal!

My 50 degree gap wedge.
Don't know why I don't use it more, I guess I've just got used to using my PW around the greens etc. If I need to get the ball up a bit quicker than usual I tend to crank it open a bit rather than use the 50 which would seem to make more sense?
I could honestly leave it out of the bag most rounds and not miss it at all.

Hmm, tough one for me. I couldn't leave out any of them. I use the 58 deg the least but I use it out of green side bunkers. I guess if I had to drop one it would have to be that because I could open up the sand wedge I guess.

For me it's definitely my 5w. I have used it a total of once in the last 6 months. I keep meaning to replace it with a 3 hybrid, but haven't got around to it yet. I don't really use it because I can hit my 3w as well as my 5w and tend to use that off the fairway from 200 yds, if I'm in the rough, I just lay up from that distance. I reckon I could have a go if I had a 3 hybrid.

After the 5w, the least used is probably my 60 degree wedge. Only really use it in certain situations, which don't come up every round.

Funnily enough mine is probably my 8 iron. I simply don't get that many 8 irons on our course. I wish I did. It's such an easy club to hit. I know it's also a great chipping club but I usually go with 7 iton for real chip and runs and 9 or PW if I need to chip it a bit further up. One set I owned for 5 years the 8 iron was virtually brand new.

5 iron for me.

Just never seem to need it round it my course.

Used it once on Monday for second to a par 5 (wind assisted drive!) and realised I hadn't used a 5 iron for a long time.

Probably why I ended up in the bunker at the side of the green...........

Fairway woods and rescues, dont carry either as I am too hit and miss with them, though it doesnt stop me having a pile of them in the garage.

My 60deg wedge, which is why it has now been removed and my 3i re-instated.

Beyond that, I'm sure I use some less than others but I do use them all.

Lately it's been my 3 wood as I'm just not confident with it any more. Used it once on Sunday and proceeded to hook one into the trees! Struck it sweetly enough, just directionally impaired, but it's very hit and miss (literally!).

If it's a friendly round where most things are sh!t or bust then i could leave my 3wood in the car. In a competitive round I would guess that my 9 iron sees least action, maybe just the one outing if things are going to plan.

3 wood .. go rounds without using it. can hit it off a tee ok & can control a draw off the tee beautifuly with it. (thats why i carry it still) cant knock it out of my way off the ground tho..

3 iron. I only ever seem to use it to hit low runners from under trees when I've hit a rubbish drive.

Which has got me thinking - maybe I should have the shaft cut as it's far too long at the moment for half swings... :)

6 iron very rarely come out to play. 64 deg lob doesn't get used until the height of summer when the greens are bone dry and slick. So that's about 1 week in July.
