Where's Bertha?

Its stopped raining here robin, its a bit breezy, rain due back in an hour or so. I expect my course to be either dead or semi open with a few flooded greens, it really came down this morning.

what does it normally do

:ears:

Windy, heavy showers and rumbles of thunder. Glad I'm on my sabbatical to sort the wife out. That and I've woken up with very sore neck and knotted shoulder. Was suppose to go to the shops. Thank god for the internet and in laws

Well, we donned waterproofs and went out for a quick nine as no thunder. Only us and four others on the course. Worth going out just to finish Par and Bogey on the 17th and 18th as they've been my nemesis holes for a few rounds.

You made the right decision Robin, I only had a bounce game booked and we decided last night to cancel, wise move as it was lovely till 9am here then it just went mental, no thunder and lightning but the rain was biblical.

Sod's Law!

After the responses to my "sad tale" post earlier this week I decided to take the advice to just have fun so as it wasn't raining I chucked the clubs in the car and off I went.

Nine mile journey to the club, got the clubs out (sky now starting to look ominous) went into locker room to change shoes (brownie point!), emerged from locker room to find Bertha was, by now, playing at our club.

Reversed the above procedure and have been bored out of my skull ever since. Just hope the re-ignited enthusiasm does not die away.

Went out at 9 this morning, only rained on the last 3 holes, but it was heavy, got nowt at the minute, though it is supposed to come down in buckets later with the wind picking up.

played 27 holes in my poncho and sou'wester, bone dry even when it teemed down. You lot are wimps!!!! ;)

lol, sod that am in work and its been teeming down here in London, sun is out atm tho but the last thing I would want to even think of doing if off today would be play golf or infact go out full stop

Bertha's just blown my bins over......cans, bottles, cardboard all over the garden.
Great start to a Sunday afternoon....

you think you had problems, we was about on the 14th in the medal at that point!!!!!

pretty brutal for a spell, long while since ive seen it go that dark that quickly!

It's spitting rain here at the moment, but certainly nothing that would make me think twice about going out if I wasn't busy - my missus debated whether to go out in the ladies medal this morning but got round dry. I was out photographing amateur football for the paper at lunchtime for a couple of hours at lunchtime - not the glorious sunshine of yesterday but no jacket required.

We'll probably get heavy rain during the night - that seems to be the current pattern here

Most exposed part of the course isn't it..? Bet that was fun!

No need to pray for me, most of the detritus is now in the next County......

Didn't play today which is just as well. I was working last night, got home at 5 and was woken at about 930 by an almighty thunderstorm.

even more fun when I got hit in the chest by a ball off the 13th tee lol, been one of them days!!!!!

we must try and get a game some time soon, with little bro too if poss

Bertha was a bit of a damp squib in our area (West Hertfordshire)! Just a normal UK wet and windy morning. I played 18 holes in a medal competition, wearing my waterproofs for the first time for months after all the nice sunny weather we have been enjoying this summer. :)

A day off golf today - had our meeting with the photog for the wedding , rain made it interesting

It came down very hard early hours this morning and today it still did - but still very warm

August medal today, I was out at 1215 in what started out as a light drizzle. We played the first two holes ok, then crossing to the third tee the cloud just burst and the rain fairly fizzed down.

Got through 3 and 4, but could barely hold onto the club, even with wet-weather gloves. Drove off on 5, planked my ball OOB with second shot and said 'sod it' .. came off off after 4 holes; walking back in, and the greens were quite quickly flooding out, and it looked as if the group waiting to go out on the first thought better of it and turned in.

No fun in that sort of weather. :(
