• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

Where are you playing?

Just returned home from one of the best golf courses in the south west of England.
Its there open week and the course is a credit to the greenstaff.
3ball 2 scores to count,i played awfull, however the course and company was great.
Windy but warm,we scored 68 points, leaders on 72 with about a 3rd of the field to come in.
If your ever down this way, give it a go,you will not be disappointed.
Tomorrow playing at another cracking course.East Devon, probably the best views around.

Looks like I'm playing John O Gaunt, Wyeboston, Brampton Park and possibly Abbotsley as well this coming week. :D

I was debating (with myself!) today the relative difficulty between Wybo and Brampton so will be interested to hear your thoughts. For me it feels like Brampton is 2-3 shots tougher (par to sss also suggests that). I'm playing well (in the main) but not sub 80 well as I was in similar form at Wybo (best is 80 and avg is 82).

Played 18 yesterday in a charity do. Our team won the trophy and some vouchers, just loosening up for two weeks on the Algarve starting tomorrow, hoping to get probably four rounds in!

Carnoustie today! Unfortunately I'm playing like an idiot and my confidence is in tatters. Just going to enjoy the course and the sunshine and hope the score isn't too disastrous.....

Brutal!

Just got no clue where anything is going off the tee at the moment and Carnoustie is the wrong course for that! Lost a couple of balls, visited the Barry burn and some nasty bunkers, finished with four sevens in the last five holes prior to which I was almost in range of my buffer. Broke 100 is the only saving grace!

At least the sun shone..... :)

Our 4 man team event today 2 to score on all holes apart from last which is all to score we managed 87 points 11 under with a great 11 points on the last

S'ford at the club this morning, 1st time off of 7. I had 35 points and trying hard not to be disappointed as I 3-stabbed 4 times

Roll-up tomorrow morning

I was already halfway down the 3rd when you made the OP, Bob.

Just a bounce game at my place with my old man, we got out before the seniors comp and it looked VERY slow as we passed the first group on the 7th. Played the front 9 well, hit the ball pretty well and had a couple of Sunday Best drives (not quite up to the 395 yd mark). Putting was pretty poor, though. Wasn't too good on the back 9 and missed the buffer, so was glad it wasn't a comp.

One more medal on Wednesday before the Club Champs next weekend... :)

Monthly stableford. 29 points but felt I hit it better than that. Roll up tomorrow. Playing with an empty head. No thoughts just stand there and hit it. And I'll be rocking the white trousers look aka "The Smiffy" although now he's semi retired its "The Garg"

played in our cricket clubs golf day today at Redbourne......twice round the par 3 course.....won by 10 shots.....

Playing Summer League tomorrow. Hoping its going to be a bit less windy than in recent rounds.

Today was supposed to be a nice barbecue - that didn't happen!
Tomorrow is the monthly medal at Royal Redlibbets-on-Thames Golf and Country club. It'll be about 15 degrees and a 35mph wind!
