What's your warm-up strategy a) before a round? b) at the range?

I once did 2+ hours pre match, the first 9 where great and then I was knackered for the second 9 lol. I tend to just get in the swing of things and head for the shop for a chat and coffee then off when the cards are filled.

I was under the impression it was a forum. My opinion is 2 hours to warm up is WAY too long and I'd be too tired after hitting balls for that long. Wasn't trying to jump on anyones post just making an observation.

You're right Homer, it is a Forum, open to ANYONE. You can't deny that you constantly bicker and pick at anything Mono or Mitch say. As soon as they post, you jump straight in and have a go at them within minutes. It is a forum, and you are entitled to your opinion, as are they.

It's just a little depressing to see a grown man like yourself 'picking' on younger members of the board. It's getting a bit predictable that when a post comes in from them, you reply instantly dismissing them or insulting them and I don't think there's any need for it.

I can post evidence of your childishness if you like, you only have to read through the last few days posts from Mono, to see that you nearly always reply in a derogatory manner to whatever he has said.

I'm sure he's not offending you that much, so why do you feel the need to have a go ?

You criticised the amount of posts he made, saying that he's just doing it to increase his post count. So what if he is ? It harms no-one, it's not a race and there's no prizes, your huge post count will not be threatened I'm sure. And anyway at the rate your going, about 1 in 5 of your posts is a tacky one-liner in response to Mono or Mitch. Now who's calling the pot black ?

Rant over.

that

I know its not how its supposed to work but I've never played well after warming up. To be honest golf is not a very physical game and good technique is hard wired into your nervous system with practice. My warm up is letting my motocaddy drag me to the first tee while I try to get into the right frame of mind.

On the range I just replay my last round rarely hitting 2 balls in a row with the same club.

Crikey read the OP and then came to the last page to reply and it seems everyones bickering again , whats going on ?

The OP has posted 2 valid questions so stick to answering them and leave things at that...sigh

Anyway I warm up by doing some light stretches and bends etc , then I get 3 clubs out and do some gentle swings with all of them together. Then down to 2 clubs and get a bit more vigorous until i'm lashing the one club thats left. I then need to sit down wehereupon i stiffen up...rinse and repeat til its time to tee-off. Sometimes i'll have 20 balls with a wedge just to get the feel of ball on club

All this talk of stretching and warm up routines reminds me of a visit to Kent National, (or Moatlands as it was called then)a few years ago.
Me and my mate wandered over to the first tee, there were a couple of lads waiting to tee off. They were doing all these warm up drills, stretching their legs, squat thrusts, you name it they were doing it. It looked like they were playing a game of "twister"....
Me and my mate just sat ourselves down on the bank watching, and rolled a fag. One of them then teed off, air shot with his first attempt, topped it up the fairway with his second. Next guy goes and hits a massive hook straight into the cabbage. What a couple of knobs. Couldn't help but grin. I'll stick to me roll up.
And what's a "comfort break"? Is it the same as having a slash?
:D :D :D

Old Holborn, Drum or Golden Virginia? :D

A roll and sausage with potato scone and HP sauce and a cup of tea and I am set for the 1st tee.

Sorted !!!

That sounds like my sort of warm up!!
Feck all this "getting in the zone" lark.
That does you diddly squat when you are playing your second shot of the day out from behind a pine tree or out of the heather.
As least you can blame your gutbuster brekkie if it all goes wrong.
How can you blame "the zone?"
:D :D
