• Thank you all very much for sharing your time with us in 2025. We hope you all have a safe and happy 2026!

What's your celebration??

in pairs, it is a knuckle bump when we one of us has done something good that turns the screw, rescues a hole or wins a hole.

In singles, its a bit of a first pump, accompanied by "yes" through clenched teeth.

Nothing wrong with showing a bit of emotion if it isn't to wild and disturbing!

Just a slight smile and a nod. Makes you look as though you expected nothing less. If you jump about or make any whohar, just looks as though you thought you were lucky and did not expect to win anything.

In pairs it's a muted, surreptitious high five once off the green. If it's singles then I just smile - probably smugly!

Normally just the knuckles with my mate, we had a few of them when we beat the national champions at the weekend in our National League first round, won 14,15,16 to be 3 up with 2 to play, knowing we had to win by two holes to win the whole thing! :) all started with a holes 40 footer at the 14th and a knuckles and a pump then :)

If its a great shot or putt etc , itl be a quiet "good shot" with a knuckle touch , otherwise itl be a quiet wink &nod . notice they are both quiet .. no need for OTT ,

singles it will depend on how well the round is going & how the adrenalin is flowing .. good birdie or par on a good card will get a low fist pump with a just above whisper "come on"

on a rubbish card it will prob get a sigh or a rue smile

I guess I'm the only one who gives it the "Shooter McGavin" (happy gilmour) double hand pistol celebration whilst shouting "choke on that baaaaby" then?

Myself and 2 mates have an ongoing pairs comp

So our celebration is a fist pump and as much trash talk as we can muster between the green & next tee.

Trash talk can also continue up until a player addresses a ball on the tee. And ree-commence once the ball has been struck.

We pretty much behave like the USA Ryder Cup (and fans) do

We all kiss and make up though over a pint at the 19th

yep you can get away with Happy Gilmour, Shooter McGavin, Riding the Bull etc only if they are done as camply and ironically as possible.

If they have any hint of seriousness about them then you fall into the fisting clenched teeth catergory:D

In pairs me and my partner just give a brief thumbs to each other but not blatant in front of our opponents, bad form if you do IMO.
Singles I just nod to myself and carry on quietly.
As you can see I'm not much of a celebrator.

Simultaneously......A fist Pump, a prolonged YEEEESSSSSSS , a big look at Imurg who will promptly offer the bird.

Pure poetry in Motion

Fragger :)

haha proper rivalry! good to see !!

bit of fist pumping as it usually a family affair with my cuz, bro and nephew. it gets the craic going!

if i have the younger nephew caddying for me then im flat out saying, hand me a wedge even when im 250 away from the green. yeah, sad i know! lol

3 options:-

I do the breakdance snake (be careful not to do it on his line, if he still has to putt).

The rope walk (watch them spike marks, if still on the green).

Maybe the robot dance/freeze move if we win, handing them the commiseration pint in the same manner.
