Next month Notts PGA have our course for the whole Thursday in which we usually play. Talked to a guy in the shop about what are our options for the day. In essence he has said talk to the club secretary which we are more than happy to do. If nowt can be sorted he can get us on a course. He is trying to help us but last time I played at said course, I had a run in with a member and vowed I would never play there again.
so what options does your course have in place if you cannot get on for the day.

we have reciprocals with approx 30 clubs across the country, on any days where there are external comps we have a reciprocal with another localish course that we can play there (and they have the same at ours)

If the course is hosting a County event then other courses in the County will offer reciprocal. Tee slots can be limited but generally we've been able to play. Plus we have reciprocal with a couple of other clubs and more in the 1893 Club.

If it's a big society or charity day or Open then it's tough.

A hoping we have a chance of playing a course ave not played before. Hollinwell.

Good to see a fellow 1983 club member used it a few times now

Where are you? We play Northampton usually and, at a push, Oundle. Haven't ventured further afield yet but plan to.

And another here. Kirby Muxloe.

If Solihull isn't too far for you Amanda both Robin Hood and Olton are worth a visit.

Mate of mine has just joined Coxmoor, hoping to get an invite soon, it's supposed to be nice. Go there and let me know how good it is. :)
My lad has a BMW, Took it to an independant specialist last couple of times and paid 3k plus for repairs. The guy that owns the garage is a member at Coxmoor. He's never invited me 🙁

We have year long reciprocals with other clubs for weekday comps, the secretary will phone round and ask for weekend comps and publish the list.

We are lucky I that we are a 18/9 complex so sometimes it's just easier to play the 9 hole.

In Scotland, if your home course is being used by the Scottish Golf Union for one of their events-.
You can ask for the courtesy of any of the participating clubs/courses , if times are available.
Book in advance and you can play in their medal comp, for handicap purposes and sometimes even sweep money.
