Whats the longest course you have played?

Rockliffe Hall off the blacks. in a decent breeze. blew my brains out to be honest, but scored 35 points somehow. I was generally taking a 4 iron or rescue into every par 4 if I was lucky. Cracking course though, would recommend it to anyone (off the yellows)

Brookwater in Australia - about 7,200 yards from the black (i.e. death) tees from memory. Was even after 4 holes before shooting about 7,200 by the end of it. My home course there was about 6,600 from the club tees and 6,900 from comp tees so I had thought I was used to decent length courses. Muriwai in New Zealand is on the coast and plays long into the teeth of the wind. I remember a few of the par 4s being completely unreachable in 2 when the winds got up.

Dartmouth Golf and Country Club. Their Championship course is 7,200 yards and a great test of golf.

Played it a few times and it just don't get easier.

Buffalo Run near Denver Colorado, 7411 yards.
Driver off almost every tee, yes that includes the par 3's and 3 iron/3 wood second shots.

Have also played some 7000+ yard courses in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area.

Only played 1 course off the very backs - Les Bordes as a freebie for keeping the same ball all the way around when I played it off the 'standard' tees (and an entry in their 'Golden Book). Shot about 95 and didn't keep that ball! Just under 7100. Fun at the time, but not for me these days.

My own course The Players club in Bristol on the championship course off the black tees. Measured at 7731 yards we play this course once a year in an event called "The Stiff Salver" CSS is regularly 78 or 79 (par 72). Played in it for the first time last year & was happy to break 100. You get your entry fee back if you complete the round, a prize for a birdie (I won a shirt last year), If you break net 80 you get £30 from memory. More of a survival test than anything else rounds last 5 hours plus, but fun in perverse way!

i remember playing and carrying at Wentworth West, probably off fontish yellow tees 10 years ago, and i dont remember anything after the "gentle hill" of 14. That's probably not very far these days, but i have short legs

My home club, The Vale near Evesham in Worcester. A comp called The Blue Monster.....medal play, 7600 yards par 74, SSS 76. It's an open and played on 14th July if anyone is interested.

6730 off the yellows; 6990 off the whites (and 7300 of the Champ ones).

Your experience was/is pretty typical. From 15th tee course is all downhill and, normally, so is the golf! Fourteen year old I was out with yesterday played the last 10 holes 1 over though - horseshoe-ed a 3-footer birdie on 15 (hit too hard)!

Alferini, Costa Del Sol. 6641 metres, about 7300 yard, off the whites. Played it one evening last year with my daughter, and were the only ones on the course. Will be playing it again next week as I am a glutton for punishment.

I played in a scratch team match at Park Hill in Leicestershire last year, and they play their scratch team matches off the black tees. Par 73, SSS 75, and 7,222yds.
I was +5 after 15 when I won the match.

Played Castle Stuart off the black which was over 7000 and 20 points. nothing to do with the length:(

Spey Vally off the back tee's again over 7000, made buffer can't remember what the CSS was that day but on the high side though;)

Turned up the next year to play in that comp again and we were forced to play off the yellow, cos people had complained it was too long!!!!!

Mines nearly 7200 off the whites which is longest in the area but palyed Wentworth earlier this year which off the mid tees is a long way especially in the wind. The Ocianica Victoria in Portugal is a beast!! Played in April and where the Portagese open is held and lots of water and wind doesnt help!!!
