What's Happened.

Back in the day 'home visits' would have been considered an important part of healthcare... Certainly one of my brothers is still here because of excellent healthcare provided by GP's living and working in their local community...

Now, if you get a home visit, its highly likely it'll be someone thats never seen you before and quite possibly likely never see you again...

I do agree with your sentiment somewhat but I can only draw from my own experience and when I collapsed with back pain I had a doctor at my house within an hour. One of my friends has a parent that is very ill and had the Doctor out 6 times last week, so it still happens, albeit you won't really notice until you really need one perhaps?

I used to know our postman and milkman by name.... we don't have a milkman anymore and at least 20 people seem to share the postal duties, i don't really care if i recognise a doctor when they turn up as long as they bring medicine!!!! :D
