what was your favourite indoor toy/game as a child?

don't remember much in the way of toys, but then we were never indoors long enough.

I do remember mammoth games of football involving half the street, the sides kept changing as dad's came home and joined in or someone had to go in for tea. summers it switched to cricket and the mum's either joined in or sat in a bunch knitting and nattering. I'm sure summers were longer and hotter.

When I was a young lad in the late 50s, we didn't have much in the way of toys, but I do remember a small table we had. Turned upside down it was a raft, the right way up with a tablecloth over it it bacame a tent. Perhaps we didn't have much in the way of toys, but we had great imaginations! :D
(Anyway it never rained when I was young and we played outside all the time, not coming home until the lamp posts came on!)

Ah! mate you just transported me back in time, the summers were hotter, longer and carefree. Who wanted to play indoors?

Didn't spend a lot of time indoors as a kid, but when I did my favourite toy was a 5' snooker table.

LOL.... :D I know that one.

ZX81? C64?

Always wanted Scalextric, never got.
Always wanted Subbuteo too.

I did however build a go-cart....in the garage....took about a year. :) :D :D

I was pretty lucky as a kid, i had just about every toy going. But thinking back I think I prefered to be out doors.

As kids we were forever building dens. Not the kind where you lean a few bits a wood together. The kind that took us a week to build, a huge supply of dads nails, a few hammers, chicken wire, corrigated iron, tarporlin(sp) hinges, rope, doors etc.

Once inside, we'd built peg guns to fend off rival den busters :D

As. For indoor games star wars figures had loads of the stuff, scalextric loads again, action man with 6' zip wire. One of my favourites had to be the big trac (just re released). Just to stick a pin on the front and put water bombs around the house! Oh the whippings we got for that! Parents got most of above 2nd hand so had big box fulls! And matchbox cars out of my ears!

Outdoor play Building dens etc, the sas survival handbook was our bible! We'd be gone for days camping out catching rabbits and fishing.
