My current set of irons are Mizuno MX23s (2005). They're my Dads old clubs and they are superb, I love them. He's had 2 sets of irons since then so he has asked if I want his MX25s (2007). I tried them down the range today and saw a little improvement in flight and distance. They are also lighter. But here is my problem, my dad only has the irons 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and P. he didn't buy the 3 & 4 as he doesn't hit them, leaving the set incomplete. I am quite anal when in comes to things like this and want a full set of clubs. They are hard topics up online as I haven't seen any single irons for sale.

What do you think i should do GM?

Old mx23s or 2 irons missing of newer mx25s?

In your sig you have a 3 and 4 hybrids listed. Are you sure you need a 3 and 4 iron? Many golfers (including myself) haven't carried a 3 for a while and there have been articles in magazines saying that most golfers shouldn't carry a 4 either.

You don't need 3/4 iron as well as 3/4 hybrid. If you insist on complete set best stick with what you have, as its hard enough finding odd clubs for 2011 sets let alone 2007 ones.

agree with Ethan and pbrown, and would add that you also have the option of retaining the 3 4 irons from your existing set if you really feel the need.

There is no such thing as a complete set, the set is what you make it

Most sets start at 5i now in favour of hybrids for 4h etc

You will have to prise my 4 iron out of my cold dead hands after the shot down 17 at Brockenhurst on Sunday. Was the best shot I hit all day!

EDIT: I recently put the 3 back in the bag, I have no problem hitting those irons. Nothing against hybrids but at the level I "can" play to irons are more appropriate/

Thinking about it I do agree, it's so rare I pull out a 3 iron. Usually I'll just play with the 4 Hybrid. Thanks guys.
