come back for more?

For some it might be holing a 20ft putt or chipping in from the cabbage, or striping a driver down the middle of the fairway.

We've all hit those career shots (in between the dross of course) that make you feel good inside even though you might be having a crap round.

For me there's no better sight in golf than that all too rare mid-iron approach shot that you know is good from the moment it leaves the club. Spends a long time in the air and lands safely on the green, a sight to behold.

You invariably miss the putt of course and probably come nowhere in the comp but you can still go home happy - sort of. :D

For me it's the simple please of looking up and seeing the ball flying in the direction I had intended it to go rather than swerving madly towards the thick stuff, skimming the turf 20 yards in front or diving with amazing accuracy directly into the centre of a bunker or pond!

For me its a long iron, the one where you dont feel it,but as you say you just know its right, lovely feeling, albeit rare in my cse.

Bang on matey :)

I absolutely love it when a 3 iron ( 200 yards plus )is correctly on its way as nature intended...the sweet soft feel off the club face...admiring the flight...then landing in the middle of the green, chuffed to bits.....marvellous :) :) :)

I like it when I have to manufacture a shot and it comes off.
A cut around trees, a low punch under branches, a flop shot over trees.
Guess I should stop hitting it in the trees

Chip-ins are always nice too :D

3 shots keep me coming back

Nailed drives are a penis extension in anyones book, sitting on the tee and knowing you can place your drive on a good day I'd immense

Great bunker recoveries from deep greenside countersunk bunkers I love, when your yeah is below the green and you just flip it to the pin in the first attempt

And a good struck mid iron from 150+ taking on the pin and winning

Unfortunately my iron play has been a bit slack of late so 3 has been few and far between

Just what I was thinking Bob. Nothing more satisfying than imaginging the shape, trajectory and run out etc and then executing it spot on.

Making putts from all over the place for me.

Nothing better than rolling in numerous putts on the way to a good score...

Obviously it does not happen often though :D

Hitting 350yds drives, holing out from the middle of the fairway, holing bunker shots, finishing birdie birdie birdie,.... basically any round where I don't shank it is a success ;)

Any shot that I see in my mind beforehand and then execute exactly as I intended. For kudos it has to be a chip in from off the green or out of a bunker as I'm a short hitter anyway so don't get overly excited by long drives. I do enjoy a decent well struck tee shot but I guess if I had to pick one it would be the tram line putt from 25 feethat is on line the moment it's struck and falls in at perfect speed, just dying as it gets there

Another long iron fan here. Love it. :D

I love hitting a wedge from 100 yards or less and getting inside 5 feet, I like the feel af the ball coming off the club face then watching it stop and stay. awesome! :)

the shot that makes me want more. Our last hole is a 302 yard par 4, drivable if you hit it straight. Last week i hit what i could only describe as a 250 yard push which had a cut on it and then a slice on the cut. I had 3 wood left for my second shot it went that far right. My playing partners could stop laffing in fact one guy phoned me to check if i was ok cos i was that far away.

I want to come back so i can at least have a iron into the green next time i play it

Same here. Can't beat thinking over a difficult shot and then actually pulling it off and seeing the ball shaping left/right/high/low (not all at once cause that would be some shot !)
