What makes someone human?

So, would you consider a chimp to be human? Or entitled to human rights?

These guys think they deserve many human rights, and want "personhood" conferred on some animal species.

Thoughts?

Was all I needed to 'hurrumph'!

My attitude to animal rights could probably seem 'confused' to some (who haven't experienced Farming and the Meat Industry), but that one needs a significant dose of reality applied!

it starts with giving them 'human rights' then before we know it they'll start a revolution and man will become the subservient species and we'll have to travel back in time to rectify it all..........meh!

Prob more human than some that walk the earth and prob deserve more rights than some also

what an utterly ridiculous and stupid thing to say, you should be ashamed of yourself posting that utter nonsense!

they play the yellows and whites like the rest of us
:ears:

Unless its a female Chimp of course, when the reds would be entirely appropriate

Equal rights and all that.

Proof that the world is as mad as a box of frogs and some lawyers (not all Greg :) ) need a reality check

Oh dear,
Does anyone know if these loons have actually asked the other ape species if they actually want to be considered human? :p
I believe in animal rights, and i believe there is a case for a form of "enhanced" animal rights for the great apes, but this is ludicrous.
Imho these people are almost guilty of bringing the animal rights movement into disrepute.
As already posted, nutters!! :(
