What lesson actually worked for you and your game?

Two starting to make real differences are the GM one from London Club last year. Still not getting the swing as short as I'd like but my performances are getting better and more consistent and handicap is trickling down. The other was a linear short game method one with Gary Smith. As self taught it was pleasing to hear him say I was really close and the lesson was only a few minor tweaks in set up and then refining it. Have opted for linear for the foreseeable future and working really well. Scrambling really well and confidence improving all the time

Nothing really stands out from the technical side. But on a walk back to the clubhouse following a lesson the pro was discussing shots to the green. “Always think what yardage is safe. If you’re 150 out from a small green, how much damage would hitting it 160 be to the card? If it’s a large green, flushing it won’t do any harm. Equally, is there a short yardage that will bring danger into play? If the front is littered with bunkers, go long to the back half of the green if it’s safe. Don’t hunt for birdies at sucker pins.”

A couple of years ago I was really struggling with putting booked a couple of lessons with the asst pro. Still struggle reading putts but the stroke is pretty much OK now.

Also had a driving distance lesson with GM last year. Hitting the ball now further than I ever have. Might even get down to 10 this year.

This is me now, I 'm starting to look where a miss will do the least damage, consequently I'm hitting my shots with more confidence and finding more greens as a result.

I was fortunate to be one of those selected for the golf monthly lessons a while back with Andrew Reynolds. I was struggling with iron consistency and within a few minutes was shown what I was doing wrong - total light bulb moment. I've been working on it since and have definitely moved in the right direction however.... I've gone from fading my irons to mainly hitting straight but the bad miss now is a draw - distance is vastly improved! Having faded it for so long its very counter intuitive to aim right and let it draw back but I'm slowly beginning to trust it.
