What Happens To Labour If.......

MS - You can only hope that the politicians learn something from it.

Now that Eagle has come forward will anyone else? Surely she can't be the best that there is to offer. Is she just the sacrificial lamb to get rid of Corbyn and the big hitters will join the race shortly? She may be the Heseltine in all this.

I feel there is some substance in the whispers that Ms Eagle is being used as a patsy to oust JC... And, that if she is successful in doing so I also feel that the 'dark forces' within the party will fairly swiftly move her on... Leaving the 'right wing' of the party back in the driving seat... A party supposedly for the workers needs folk at the top table who have experienced at least some life at the metaphorical coal face... Had enough of Guardian readers and academics running the show... If they really want to be in politics then go and help the greens out!

I'd argue to make any difference then you need leaders that you will get elected by the general public and who can seriously challenge the opposition. If not then you end up being an irrelevant pressure group at best.

Under a Left or Right leader Labour are still unelectable without the Scottish seats.
They do not seem to understand that.

Seems like a good plan... But having been amongst those that got suckered in by Blair I am not really so sure nowadays...

And, if you listen to what the political analysts are saying there an awful lot thinking along the same lines...

And, who are the 'they' you refer to...

The party membership want their party remain in their hands...
If the folk north of the wall wish to come along for the ride they'd be more than welcome...

If you want to carry on believing the guff being spoken by the 'political class' leaders of the SNP you crack on...

Is the tool that is Salmond still wanting to punish Londoners...
Are the good folk to the north still Bessie mates with those of you following Sturgeon unquestioningly...

Sturgeon was encouraging Milliband to form a coalition with the SNP at the last election.
It would have been the only way to keep the Tories out.

Milliband arrogantly [and foolishly IMO] rejected it. They were a lost cause after that and nobody votes for a lost cause.

I voted Tory because I didn't want a Labour/SNP coalition. I find the SNP way too far left for my socialist views. I don't think they are a party for the people, I think they have one main ambition which they are so fervent in chasing they are damaging the Scottish economy in their quest to buy votes. £15billion deficit, and their main economic pit prop dead in the water - no pun intended.

Whereas the UK economy is just spiffing.:o

Do you not think Boris, Gove and Nigel have punished London a hell of a lot more than Salmond would have dreamed of.
Milliband had an opportunity and blew it, remember he actually increased the Labour vote [despite the Scottish results] and still lost

Its £5billion less than Scotland's, far more diverse and not so many eggs in fewer baskets. Scottish economy would be far more buoyant if it didn't have a spendthrift government.

It has the potential to be better, but not whilst the SNP are driving it. And it wouldn't pass the EU's criteria for entry, whatever spin Sturgeon wants to put on it.

Looks like the Labour NEC are going out of their way to block Corbyn from the leadership race.
How desperate is that, they don't want him to stand because he is very popular with the membership.

Double whammy for them as a court in Glasgow hears the case of a Liverpool Labour MP assaulting an independence supporter at a polling station.

This may come as a surprise for you Mr Doom but the Conservatives had an overall majority at the last election so no amount of gerrymandering between the SNP and Labour would have made a jot of difference.

Just saying!

What a mega Tory Project Fear that was though - absolutely Class A* - A Westminster Labour government whose policies are determined by the SNP

Reports tonight that Labour's Whips are on the verge of resigning.
No Whips = loss of Official Opposition status.

1. Some knowledgeable people on here....why is this?

2. Corbyn is standing. This is gonna be fun !!!!!

3. And as someone has already pointed out Labour need the Scottish vote to defeat the Tories anyway. Mrs May would do well to call the election NOW !!!!

It would be funny to see Labour do an about face on the EU as they would have to say they would make sure their policy would be to negotiate a Leave. Sooooooo funny !!!!!
