2 under yesterday...7 over today?! That has to be more than a bit of bad luck...especiallly when the conditions were pretty benign. To go from challenging for the lead to (very likely) missing the cut is almost unbelievable for a player of his standard. What gives?
:D

I heard he was pretty damn mad with himself after and so I guess that shows a certain degree of self pride and passion. Better than than just accepting it, getting in the car and heading off home. I think I read he made some small swing changes last year and to be honest if thats true they don't seem to be working.

Can I lose some friends and un-influence some people?

Yes?

I remember when McDowell won The Scottish Open. I was over the moon for him, such a decent chap and a modest golfer.
At the Ryder Cup, he played with huge heart and became a legend. He and some German bloke became joint golfers of the year. I think he also got an MBE. All good.

However, I watch him now and I can't bear it - I'd say his body language is that of someone who "expects" to win, almost regardless. His confidence is admirable and I'm sure he's still a top bloke....but I can't help feeling something is very wrong with his game....but it's hidden behind the gold wrapper that seems to surround him these days. He was better (for my money) before all this happened to him.

I realise it's 1.00 in the morning and all that, but he seems out of sorts.
