What books are you reading these days?

We have five bookcases in the house:ooo:. Love reading, and now I have got a kindle I will not have to worry about another bookcase.;)

Thanks to Christmas I have quite a few on the go right now.

This weekend I should finish (for the second time) Ericksonian Approaches, A Comprehensive Manual (Rubin Battino).
I have "MotoGP Season Review 2012" (Julian Ryder), "A Survival Guide for Life" (Bear Grylls) on the go (should finish them next week) and "A Golf Swing You Can Trust" ebook (John Hoskison) - should finish that by next weekend-ish.

I'm then on to "Unity 3.x development essentials" (Will Goldstone) for some creative stuff I'm working on.

I'm also picking up a copy of Getting up and down by Tom Watson when I finish adding some other stuff to my cart.

I don't watch much television. ;)

Currently London Fields by Martin Amis. I've just registered with an on-line Library. Got piles of books - would be handy to have them catalogued so giong to do that :-)

I've recently finished "Cloud Atlas" which was pretty good but ultimately unfulfilling as the anticipated revelations on the meaning of life didn't really materialise at the end.

Currently reading HG Wells' "The Time Machine" since I love time travel stuff and have never read this. It's OK but not really gripping me possibly because I've seen the film so many times.

Also "Golf on the Rocks" about golfing on 18 Scottish Islands. I love golf, I love visiting the islands so should be a no-brainer but the writing style isn't doing it for me so it's been a bit disappointing.

Will look out for this one - I've played six. Shiskine, Corrie and Whiting Bay on Arran; Tobermory on Mull; Vaul on Tiree; Machrie on Islay.

Just finished a re-read of The Hobbit...

If you haven't already try a 'Jack Reacher' book... Very readable...

would agree with the above!have just started reading all the reacher books again, will be there by the end of the month!
SWMBO and I are going to see the movie with Tom Cruise as Reacher...seem to remember The Craw saying that this was
miscasting to the N'th degree!!!Well we'll go and see how good/bad it is?!

For anybody into football try "a season with Verona" by Tim Parks. A cracking read which describes the extreme ups and downs of the club over a period. Some incredible things happen that i didnt even believe so much that i had to google them!

Don't read that a lot of books to be honest but I have started on Darren Clarkes book, pretty good so far and some funny stories in it.

Is Hank Haneys book worth getting? I've heard mixed reviews about it.

Not sure if I've actually golfed on any of the islands.... We're usually trying to go surfing. I love Tiree for that but don't think I even knew there was a golf course there.

Just got in to the Jack Reacher series and really enjoying them.

Read Steve Jobes biography at the end of last year, weighty tome but a good read. Guy comes across as a bit of a fruitcake but they always say the line is very fine between genius and insanity.

On the subject of books and reading, I heard a very scary fact on radio 2 about how many houses, with kids in them,do not have any books. Around 25 per cent :o

Not sure what GC's are in the book but I've had the pleasure on

Millport
Arran
Rothesay
Mull
Skye
Islay

I will make it to Askernish in the next year or two. Maybe see if a few Gm'ers are up for a trip!
