Westwood

So another major comes to an end and the Westwood bashers are out again. Get off his back why don't you. He is No3 in the world, runner up in a second major this year and last years No1 in Europe. Not bad in my book and if he continues to play as he is he will win one soon. To cap it all he handles himself with good grace and humour whether he wins or loses and is a sportsman Britain can be proud of unlike some footballers we could mention.
Roll on the USPGA in August.

Plenty have won with dubious short games over the years and I think it is taken out of context. I agree Westwood doesn't look as fit as he did but he is still the top placed Brit (by a fair way) and so he can't be doing too much wrong. he is THE most consistant golfer over the last two seasons in the majors.

Add in the fact he is putting loads back into the game with his Foundation for kids and I think it makes him one of the true gentlemen in the game today.

maybe westwood will never win a major, who cares, time after time, hes high on the leader board, you cant do that if your
not world class'where was michelson, where was stricker, what about els or furyk nowhere to be seen.the media absolutley

mistake,and so oostthuizen fact

What is needed to win a major?

What were people's predictions in January for the four majors this year? Would people have put MacDowell and Oisthousenface down for one each? No. But they won - why?

On form, they wouldn't have got close as it would have appeared that they didn't have the game but they came good.

Monty and Westwood - never won a major - that makes them rubbish according to some on this forum. Totally incorrect. They are both superb golfers who are a credit to themselves, their country and their trade.

Westwood's third in the world - that makes him class in my book. Not too sure how you can knock that - you must be number two or one then..... :(

I would just like to point out that my original post was about his strange interviews, I didn't mention his golfing ability.
Personally i think he has done a great job especially when you think where he was about 6 or 7 years ago. I think we know about his around the green problems, but I still think he just needs to up his putting a bit more. To many putts missed from the 4-5 foot range.

Funny, when the Lord Almighty Woods finished in the top ten at the Masters whilst not playing at his best, lots of people on here were in full exaltation-mode.

When an injured Westwood comes 2nd whilst clearly not on his A game, apparently he's lazy, destined never to win a Major, bottler etc.

Todd Hamilton or Lee Westwood - who would you rather be?
