Partner and I won our semi today which is one hell of a result. Playing a 4 & 5 handicapper who hit the ball a mile and off the winter mats so the course playing significantly shorter for them (and no we don't get courtesy shots)!

1 up going down the 18th and no shots for any of us but partner and I both got our par and so did our opponents

The final is against HID and his partner though so not sure how I feel about that but at least one of us will win!!

Well done and good luck for the final.

Errm... was the course not shorter for you as well? ;)

No - a lot of mats are around where the red medal tees are. The 6th is longer and the 14th shorter but that's about it. I'd estimate that each hole is playing 30+ yards shorter than the whites and a number even more than that.

I hope HID kicks your ass, just to maintain the wearing the trousers debate ;)

in all seriousness, very well done Amanda, so glad I am not in your household after the final whatever the outcome

Well done Amanda. Good luck in the Final - could be interesting for bragging rights!

BTW. There is not really such a thing as 'Courtesy Shots'!

Equity Shots are an adjustment, if required, for the differences between SSS (and Par) from the different tees. See Slide 24 of the Handicap Seminar Presentations document here: http://www.englishgolfunion.org/pag...e=2012-2015+CONGU+Unified+Handicapping+System To have no adjustment, the 2 SSSs, for the tees used, would need to be the same.
