I have an putter that feels very heavy in the hands, its a envroll er6 like the look of it, cost quite a bit of money, so trying to find a solution to the problem. I prefer the weight to feel in the head.

I have added extra weight to the head with quite a bit lead(from roof flashing) in front of the rear weight in the head, but this hardly made any difference.

Think I have found out on the internet that the grip weighs 120grams and comparing to other grips this appears to be very heavy.

I don't want to waste money on a grip change if it makes little difference, has anyone swapped a heavy grip for a much lighter grip, did it make the putter lighter in the hands and feel that the weight was in the head?

cheers:)

I would agree that the grip is heavy compared to a lot.

The simple answer is to fit a grip that can take counter balance weights by simply inserting them in to the hole in the top of the grip.

Evnroll putters are weight balanced with a weight in the top of the shaft.

So effectively counterbalanced.

Sounds like you've bought the wrong putter.

The picture of the grips states that all are available in a light and heavy version, so change the grip.

OP, if you bought it from an Evnroll dealer take it back, explain your problem & see what he can do for you, but if they can't any decent club repairer should be able to save the original grip & put a lighter one for you, might be able to recoup something for the original on eBay.

Scroll down & you'll see the different weights listed.

Yes you can buy different grips.

But there is a weight in the top of the shaft, irrespective of what grip you put on.

If he likes to feel the weight in head then a putter with a weight in the top of the shaft is not the right putter.

I have an Evnroll ER5 which I love, but I didn’t know it has a weight in the top of the shaft (counterbalanced?)
I need a new grip because I had a bag with a putter pit that wasn’t big enough to take the big grip and it rubbed. Do I have to always use an Evnroll grip or if I use another brand would the weight remain the same?

In answer to your question yes you can get a lighter grip which will affect the swing weight making it heavier in the head end. But as others said if it's counter balanced then you need to see an Evenroll specialist.

Thanks for all the replies, sounds like a change of grip maybe a waste of time and may not solve my problem if the weight is in the shaft and cant be removed.

I bought it off here must be over a year ago, but just cant quite get along with it afte a number of months of trying, tried another putter for a month(not so good for alignment lines on top) but felt so much better and more consistent in distance control, then went back to the er6 and realised the weighting was completely different and on the er6 I just cant feel the head and the stroke with heavier weight in hand is not so consistent often over or under hitting longer putts.

Thanks again (y)

Thought I would give a quick update, just in case anyone searchs this or was wondering on doing this.

Due to BIM and 6535, I thought dos it and spend the £30 for a grip change. He got some machine out to take the swing weigh, he said it was D7(I think). I said the grip was 120grams.

I tried out a few putters in the shop and the weighting I liked were about E8(I think!), which was approximately achieved with changing to a 60gram grip(IIRC!!), it was the 3.0 superstroke grip.

Anyway played a few times with it and the weighting is now good.

Sounds like you did remember it correctly, the weights & swing weights seem to compute, glad you got it sorted. (y)
