You've come up with pretty much what I would be leaning towards, but the term 'old favourite' concerns me slightly as it implies 'was once a favourite, but somewhere along the line something went a little wrong'.

They might have been favourites until something shinier cam along :)

Jezz

Until HID put her foot down about 6 months afgo there was a veritable alladins cave of old wedges, putters, drivers etc I would have offered along with decent carry bags. Sadly these have all found new homes.

For what its worth and having seen you close up, I'd go with a 3 wood, hybrid, the ping wedges (you can afford a few balls) and the ping anser and then hit a few shots with both sets of irons and see what feels better, probably the Mizzys for you.

At the end of the day its 0.1 back if it goes horribly wrong and you can stroll out to the 1st with no pre-conceptions or worries and if you play well its a bonus.

I voted for the "old faves" as well. They once did it for you Jezz, give them an airing again!

They may be like an old pair of slippers, a bit motheaten, slightly whiffy but very, very familiar when used!

Definitely go with the "old favourites". I tend to give my father-in-law my unwanted clubs. Whenever I travel over and play at his course I simply grab some of my "old favourites" from his garage. More often than not I end up wondering why I ever got rid of them.

Alex lives somewhere in London, I live down in Sussex and really don't like to venture up here more than is absolutely necessary - especially by car!
So a 'reserve' set is, which looks like being selected on Friday when I'm at home.
Will let you know what I go with, and what I shoot (unless it's very, very high and then I might not!)
